slow loser
Hi everyone, I didnt know this board existed till this morning either. I have gone through the September surgery dates numerous times looking for others weight loss success, looking for some encouragment... it gets very discouraging as alot of folks do not update their profiles. I am down 60 pounds but wi**** were more. I started above 300 but the scale goes for weeks without moving. I have increased my exersize and water intake, any other ideas to speed up losses? I also have recently started the hair loss process, any ideas to slow that down? Hope everyone has a happy, healthy new year!!
Reeda ! I'm a slow loser too !
It really didn't bother me until I saw people losing 100 or more pounds in tha same amount of time. I hope I'm not sabotaging my success. Since reading your E-Mail I've checked a dozen other profiles, and it seems that our rate of loss is equally acceptable. I started at 287 and am down 55 pounds from surgery on September 22, 2003. I also have plateaus where my scale doesn't move for a week or two, but you know what... we will make our goal, maybe a few weeks later than others, and maybe a few weeks earlier than others. We are all Losers!

Hi Reeda, we had surgery on the same day. I weighed 227 pre-op, I have only lost 50 lbs. so far. I was getting sick for awhile, that seemed to slow the weight loss down a lot. I read on someone's profile that they drink a lot of water before they eat, it has helped me. I am able to eat without getting sick. I know we need to eat to fuel our bodies, so we can burn the fat. So make sure you are eating and drinking enough water. I think a 60 lb. loss is fantastic. Keep up the good work.
Hi Reeda...
I just read your post, and we all lose the weight differently. I know it might be frustrating seeing and hearing about other people losing more and faster. But your body is changing for the better and at its own pace. Keep up the good work! I wish you and everyone the best in their journey on the losing side.
Much Love,
Dawn Gimbl

Dear Reeda,
I know how you feel. I had surgery on 9/21/03 and am 51.5 pounds down. It seems like the scale will stay the same for about 3-4 weeks and then go down 4 pounds. It is really frustrating! My doctor (Giddens) told me to look at the big picture (17 pounds per month!) that it is not as bad as we think. I read others posts and see them losing so much quicker, but I guess everyone is different. I am happy for them and I am sure that others are losing slower than I am. Eventually it will all come off. I just want it NOW!!!!! Don't sweat it too much. Your journey is YOURS, not everyone elses. I think you are doing wonderfully and keep up the good work. Your hair will come back as soon as your hormones regulate. It really is just a temporary thing. Good luck! Renee
Hello All, I had surgery Sept. 15th and have lost 59 lbs. yes just like all others weight stays the same for weeks on end, then boom, 5 lbs. or so lost almost overnight.... I love clothes falling off, that means inches coming down when weight is not....I love all the compliments!!! This weight loss journey is so exciting....
