hi all!!! i didnt know
hi i did not know until just this second that there was a message board for others who had surgery in september .
i had my lap rny on 9/8/2003 and am just about 15 weeks out and down 70 lbs
i am so excited!! i can feel the difference in my clothing as i have gone from a tight 30 down to an 18.
all my rings are so loose they spin on my fingers and i am now wearing a ring that used to be on my index finger on my thumb now.
i have gone down a shoe size and width from a 9 wide to a regular 8.
i started at 289.5 and am 5-1 inches and now weigh 219.5. i would just love to get down to 118-125 but would be so very happy with anything under 150 ( included 149.99999)
just wanted to check in here because i just discovered this message board and wanted to put myself out there and maybe connect with others who had surgery about the time i did

Tricia,
Sound like your doing great!!! I also didn't realize this message board excisted either. I had my surgery on 9/22/03. Your message sounds just like me. Everything from the rings to the clothes. I'm in a size 20 Plus and some 22 plus still and I can wear some shirts that are 18 plus. I couldn't even go to walmart and buy clothes. But now I can. I was stuck in sweat pants for so long. My sister was teasing me about it would'nt be long now and I would be trying on hoochie clothes. I said I don't even know what hoochie clothes are. and she just laughed. She said well I don't want to see you in any and a nother lady said oh yea she can try on hoochie clothes at least one time. They are all crazy.
I started at 354 1 month before surgery and now I'm at 240. I'm 5' 5".
Well I'll let you go for now.
Debbie Moya
You guys are doing great !
I had my surgury on September 22, 2003 and am down 55 pounds. I'm 5'6" and started at 287 (my scale at home said 292). I'm grateful for the 55 pounds but everyone else seems to be losing faster than me. I have to wonder sometimes if I'm doing something wrong.
Would either of you be willing to share what you eat in a typical day? My diet doesn't have much variety.
Thanks,
Suzanne
Hello fellow September post ops!!!!
I didn't know about this board either, my goodness! I had Lap RNY on 9/26/03 and have lost 65 pounds so far. Started out at 358 pounds and now weigh 293 at 5 feet ten inches. My energy has gone through the roof, and cannot wait to lose more!
For the most part, I eat basic meat(usually rib eye steak cut into tiny pieces, stir fried with onions, peppers, and mushrooms) and veggies, with some occasional carbs in there. But right now, I am having a bit of a problem with snacking at work. It is the down part of the semester, and there isn't alot of work to do, so when I get bored......*sigh* But I bought some jerky today and am chewing away happily right now! LOL
I hope everyone is staying warm today!
Bye for now *wave*
I didn't know either!
It is helpful to hear from others who know where your coming from.
I had my RNY on September 8th and I am down 89 pounds so far. I went
from a size 26 to a loose 14. I feel great, and now have a spring in my step,
and would not change a thing about the last few months.
I walk anywhere from 2.5 to 4 miles a day after work, and do 300
crunches a night. (trying to avoid a TT) and also lift weights for my
arms every other day. So far so good! Congratulations to you all on
your losses! Keep it up...walk, walk, walk...century club here we come!
This has really been a wonderful thing. I had lap-rny, 9/16/03, with a bypass of 150 cm and I am down 100 lb. I started at 412 lb. and loss the most (64 lb.) in the first month.
I am not eating as much as I should be. I am always hungry, unless I really eat every other hour. I can't do that. I forget, sometime. I have to literally watch the clock. I am drinking a protein shake once a day and try to drink two.
I had a 20 lb. loss in the pass month and think I was on a plateau before that. My clothes are literally hanging off and I'm ready to buy something new, but should wait until I can get into some of the other sizes in my closet. I have everything from a 1x to a 5x and a few other sizes. Jewelry is fitting again and I am really loving all of it.
This is a wonderful web site. Congratulations to all of my fellow losers!
This is a wonderful trip!
