I am 3 1/2 weeks out and lost 28 pounds from the adjustable gastric banding. Most of the weight lost occured when I was on clear liquids, Now that I am eating food (Following Atkin's Plan), I have only lost 2 pounds in the last 10 days. I am affraid that only while on protein shakes and clear liquids will I obtain my goal. This is not realistic to me. Have other people notice a decline in weight lost with the addition of food. Also, I am walking 1 1/2 miles 3 times a week. Is this enough?

28 lbs is a lot in 3 1/2 weeks is actually very good for lap band and for having a lower BMI than many. I had RNY about the same time and have only lost about 16-18 lbs. As long as you're following your dr.'s advice/plan, you will be fine and much healther. A couple days I went off "plan" and ended up losing weight faster, but I also got really sick. I, too, am very impatient, but when you end up being too weak to get out of bed or take your child to school (and watch their tears), it's worth taking the slower, healthier way. I hope this helps and keep up the good work.
