Hello again,
Thanks to those of you *****sponded to my previous message. So far, everything has gone like clockwork so I know I'm doing the right thing. I had my pre-op with anesthesia today. The CRNA highly recommended the epidural. Did any of you have one? I will be under general anes but he recommended the epidural for the pain following the surgery. If you had one, what was it like getting it done? I plan to go for it anyway but am interested in your experience(s). My surgery date is next Fri, 9/19.
Thanks.

I'm curious about the epidural too. My pre-op testing is on Tuesday and I hope they don't pu**** I had epidural with my c-section and screamed when it went in and didn't seem to help with pain after and gave me a bad headache after. But I don't know if it's the same and would like to hear more about it. Good luck next week and the entire journey.
My Doctor's office advised me that if I was having an open procedure I would have the Epidural, but for a lap surgery I would not have one. A friend who has some medical knowledge suggested that it was because in a open surgery that that epidural allows the surgeron to have the ability to control blood loss better during surgery, and then allows for pain management after. With a lap procedure less blood loss, less pain, less need to control it.
Hope this help....
