I'm a little disappointed originally had a date of 7/15 but was denied by insurance because I am a smoker (well, was a smoker) date has been changed to 9/8!!!! It is extremely hard to stop smoking & eating at the same time since I am trying to follow my docs diet plan but I know my doc will not do the surgery if there is any hint of nicotene in my system so since I received the denial I have not smoked AT ALL!!!! This surgery is way more important to me than a nasty ole cigarette!!!

Sara, I gave up smoking April 2002 after seeing my brother-in-law return to the CICU still hooked up to the resperiator and all the other tubes after having TRIPLE HEART BYPASS. We were close although he is 10 years older than I. He had lived with my wife and I for several years, and we had drove trucks togeather for the last 12 years. But seeing him laying there like that I knew that it was time for me to quit. I asked the Lord Almighty to help me, I had said for years that I wanted to quit, and I had tried to quit, but I had never gotten to the point of asking Him to help me and saying that it was time to quit. Two days later, after they got tasting worse with everyone that I lit up, I smoked the last one that I had in my possion. Instead of going and buying more cigs, I stopped and bought $25.00 worth of BUBBLE GUM. I have not wanted another one and I cant stand to smell someone smoking or even an old ashtray. Good luck with quiting and with the surgery. Till He come again, Grady Evans, Jasper AL
