Topic: RE: Help my Scale is Stuck!!!
Hey Nicki,
I had my surgery September 26, 2002, I have now lost 115 pounds but have also been "stuck" there for about a month. I was told to make sure I get the appropriate amount of protein and exercise, exercise, excerise!
Good Luck....to both of us!

I am stuck and even gaining - I understand your frustration! If you like Coffee - try ROCAMOJO (www.ROCAMOJO.COM) That upped my protein and I started dropping again. It worked for me. Use 1/2 scoop of the reg Soy and 1/2 scoop of the 1/2 coffee 1/2 soy and you get 50g of protein in a pot and I use non dairy creamer for better taste!
Luck!, Hugs, Jen

Just wanted to post - I didn't do the Liquid thing - too drastic yet - I did attend an OA meetng and think that is the way to go for me - I have to get the reasons I do this to myself in check. I started this week and have already made some personal progress.

Hi Losers!
Hope everyone is still losing weight on a consistent basis. I on the contrary seem to have a problem with my scale. Its stuck! I weighed 290 lbs to start and am now weighing in at 185 lbs. I can't seem to break 185. Has anyone who had surgery in September reached a long plateau as I have? What have you done to jump start the losing again? I know that if I get a tummy tuck, arm tuck, and thigh tuck, I'd probably be down another 20 lbs, but I'd like to get to 150 lbs, and then get my tummy tuck, etc... That way, I'd be weighing in at around 140 to 135 lbs.
Please email, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!! Had my surger Sept 4th,2002. To date I have lost 140 lbs and Im still going. The loss is slow these days, but I feel so much better than I ever have.... If I didnt lose another pound, Id still be happy with how I feel now!! I love to work out and lift weights!! However I havent been able to for a few months now. I developed a HUGE hernia on the entire incesion site. Had surgery to fix that a week ago and had my panis removed at the same time. They took 7.2 pounds of skin! YIKES!!!! If I had to put a goal weight down, I'm thinking 20-30 lbs would be nice. Its all possible... in about a month and a half I will be back at the gym.... then WATCH OUT!! Life is sooooooo different. I look younger, I FEEL younger... I have more energy than can ever remember having and I weigh less than when I graduated from HS!! Life is good!! COngrats on the success Sept babies!! Take care and keep up the good work!! ****HUGS****

Hi Jennifer:
Just read your post and wondered if you tried the fresh start w/liquids for a few days and if it worked. Let us know!

Yikes!! I'm having the exact same problem, ladies. Looks like it really is just a "tool", huh? A friend who had surgery the day after me has joined the on-line Weigh****chers and she said that has helped her tremendously. I haven't tried that yet. I'm going to go with the liquids a few days, then get back on Atkins. I can't eat everything, but I sure can eat more, and more often. Sugar bothers me, and heavy fat things (Chicken Biscuit crackers and potato chips); however, pretzels go down just fine, thank you very much. Geesh! I'm so glad you guys posted -- I felt like it was just me.

well I have lost a total of 132 lbs but I am at a stand still right now at exactly 200lbs! Very frustrating. I finally started working out about 2 months ago and I am starting to lose motivation because I am stuck at 200 lbs no matter what I do...I have only lost 2 bs since 7/17 and its really hard I was hoping to be 185 by my year but it doesnt look like Ill make it. I just keep forcing myself to go to the gym knowing in the long run I will lose it. My eating is bad though I was eating lots of protein but at work theres so much junk around and its hard to stay away from it, escecially being stuck with little motivation. Its just really hard becasue i have lost steadily up to this point...

I'm wondering if these feelings are "normal" for our stage in WLS.
I am feeling the same way! I am even going to an Overeaters Anom meeting on Monday! I don't want to waste my window and feel like I am not making the progress I should be! I have something in my mouth all the time???????????
I have had lots of people giving support and suggestions - they are: Quit sugar, eat only protein, go to an OE meeting, drink more water. Get mor etime for yourself. Drink more shakes, and on and on.....They are all great suggestions - putting them to use is a whole other story! HUH LOL!
