My surgery is 8/11. I started my pre-op diet on 7/22. 3 protein shakes, clear non-carbonated sugar free liquids, veggies only, no oil. Today is 1 week and my scale shows down 15 pounds in 1 week! I am on my way! :-) Wishing you all well!
The first few days of mine were really tough, easier now though. I am permitted two shakes a day and a 4oz piece of lean chicken or fish and 1 cup of veggies. I am set for surgery on 6Aug. It's getting down to the wire now!
Hi Jaime, I am new on OH, I'm very excited for you, I have also asked a question and had no reply. Blessings on your upcoming surgery and pray you lose lots of weight. I can not believe no one has replied! I am having a revision done on Aug 26. I had a VSG done in April of 2010 and then promptly broke the first rule for post surgery and got pregnant! Well 4 years later I have a healthy happy preschooler and a severe Hiatal Hernia that needs to be fixed. So doc is going to fix the Hernia and fix my sleeve that I destroyed during pregnancy. (I am still down 50 pounds from initial start weight but have a long way to go.) Hopefully I can help because I have experienced this once and will be doing it again! I know several of us have surgery scheduled for that first week of August, so I'm guessing several have started the pre-op diet as well. I'm on day 4 of mine. So far, it's going fine. I feel hungry, but I'm not starving. I get 4 protein shakes plus 1 fruit serving and a 500-calorie meal every day. All totaled up, about 1100 calories. I blend my fruit in my breakfast shake and eat my meal at lunch. That schedule seems to help from getting too hungry.
How is everyone else doing with the pre-op diet?

I'm in the August club. My surgery is August 11. I'm having the VSG. I'm so excited. Hope the best for everyone here.

I'm in for surgery on August 4th too! I start my liquid diet on July 22nd......getting close!!!!
