WLS in August

Congratulations! I just did my psych eval today. Doc said he would put the MMPI results in tomorrow and write up my letter and get it off to the surgeon. Once I have that my case manager with my insurance company says it's an overnight turn around. I am really hoping I can get an August date before school starts back up for me. I'd like to not have to use all my sick leave days at the very beginning and I am going out of area so I have to stay in that area for a few days following my surgery. I'm hoping to hear something by the end of this week or early next week. The anxiety is killing me though because I so close I can taste it.

I'm new here...first post.  Add me to the August 4th club.   I'm having RNY.  I definitely have that excited/nervous feeling too.  I am glad to have found this thread to share the journey with others.

Hard to imagine how much our lives will change by next summer.

Congrats! Another August 4 surgery! When do you start your pre-op diet? 

Hey SnwWht,  I noticed you were local and our surgery dates are super close. If you dont mind sharing who is doing your RNY?

1st time poster. I'm in the August club. My date is 6 August. Pre-op diet starts on the 23rd. 

I talked to my surgeon yesterday and my sleeve surgery is set for Aug. 26th. It seems so far away. I start my liquid diet on Aug. 12th. I am excited but leery at the same time. Lots of time to obsess lol. 

My surgery is Aug 11.  I start the pre-op diet Sunday and have my last pre-op visit with my surgeon tomorrow.  I'm glad the time is going to pass quickly for you but it seems to be at a standstill here!  Good luck with your surgery

Congratulations to you! I also have an August 4th date for VSG. I start my liver shrinking diet 7/21, but I thought I would get a jump start. My diet isn't as strict as some. I only have to do full liquids the day before surgery. The remaining 13 days will be filled with low cal/fat/carb foods and lots of water. I've already joined a gym and am focusing on weights/strength training.

I'm ready to take my seat on the "Loser's Bench"!

Hey all, wow, seems like August 4th is a common date... maybe because its a Monday??  Ill be happy to lead the pack here. My surgery date is Friday August 1st  Start my preop diet in 2 days!! Let the countdown begin.

I'm in for surgery on August 4th too! I start my liquid diet on July 22nd......getting close!!!!
