I'm probably not the right one to ask. My surgery was complicated by a Hiatal hernia that I didn't even know I had. Fortunately Dr. Alvarez was able to correct it with an additional procedure that resulted in a longer time in the OR and other issues to deal with after surgery. I think it set me back an extra week, because the 2 other women that had surgery with me are progressing so much faster. They're both also 10 years younger then me. I'm feeling a little bit better everyday. I thought I'd be "back to normal" by now, but it's not the case. I'm still weak, get short of breath easily, have gastric reflux that I didn't have before and a few other discomforts. I'm sure in a few weeks I'll be thinking it was all worth it, but right now I still feel like crap.
How is it going? Has it been difficult adjusting to post-op life? My date is on the 19th and I just want an idea on what to expect.
Mine is on the 28th! Like y'all I'm nervous and excited and the same time. Good Luck to y'all and let's keep it moving!
I've been contemplating the type of surgery (for the LONGEST time) and finally decided on the sleeve. I start my LEAN nutrition next week and the week after the dreadful liquid diet! I am so excited and at the same time scared. I have many adhesions due to several previous abdominal surgeries. I want to know has anyone ever been gone thru the surgery and had adhesions complication?

I stay for 5 or 6 days - that 's standard European stay- so I'm glad I'll be taken care of for that long and won't have my family as a distraction! Anyway - bring Chapstick, lots of toothpaste and plenty of washcloths for keeping your face moist and rubbing your mouth out. Sounds gross but it's been a lifesaver for me!
Will let you know how it goes. So glad you'll be joining me on the journey,
Ashley
Hope your surgery went well! I can't wait to hear from you - and see how your recovery is going!
I'm not going to Mexico but my surgery date is the same, Aug 12th! I'll be looking for your posts to hear how you're doing afterwards and know you progress!! Good luck to you and prayers for a great success!!
8/8 is tomorrow. Can't believe it! I'm really looking forward to the surgery and cannot wait to walk the healthy pathway.
