August 27th is my Surgery Date!!!

So, I called the insurance company this past Friday, August 3rd, and was told that my claim that was submitted on July 18th was still pending/in review and that they would have an answer for me by Monday. So Monday, (August 6th) around mid-day, I called and was told that it was approved!!! I had my insurance fax my surgeon the approval (while I waited for this to be done on hold). About thirty minutes later, I got a call from the surgery scheduler!!! And my surgery has been scheduled for August 27th!!!!. I start my pre-op diet on Monday, August 13th and have a few more appointments leading up to surgery. I am getting nervous and I know that this will be here before I know it. It's taken 7 long months to get to this point. I am soooo grateful and feel soooo blessed....So excited for my new beginning!!

Was your process really long? Mine was 6+ months, but I'm grateful that my insurance will cover 100% of the costs!!

I hope your journey wasn't as long as mine....

Took me 8 months to get to this point. I start my pre-op tomorrow....Sunday the 12th. I have surgery at 7:30am and have to be up at 4am...lol. Don't forget the chap stick, toothbrush and paste. Are you as excited and scared as I am ?

Actually I'm a little nervous, but not really scared. I am eager to get past all of this waiting, and I feel ready to be on the actual side of it all...if that makes sense!

I have been finishing up all of my pre-op appointments, which have been going well...and I'm ready to get this show on the road!!!

I think I'll start packing for the hospital soon....I won't take much, and definitely won't forget the chapstick, toothpaste and toothbrush! :)

Im scheduled for 8/27 too.  I am so so excited too.  I wish you both the very best.  I started my serious journey June 1.  I thought I wanted to do the sleeve but my insurance would not pay, but it would for bypass so thats where Im at.  How have ya'll done on the diet?  I've done better than I ever dreamed.  It's amazing.  My heaviest wt is 241.  I weighed 235 the day of my pre-op diet and I'm down to 229.5.  Every pound gone is one more that I don't have to tote around lol.  What are ya'll eating?  What are ya'll packing for hospital.  How long will ya'll have to stay?  All questions... lol.  Good luck to each of you

Congrats!!! so that makes THREE of us....maybe we can post here when we are able to check in on one another? I think it would be a good idea. I had a six month plan so my weight fluctuated within 10 lbs...I first gained and then lost...I didn't want to go below a certain weight because I would not qualify for the surgery. My weight was 39.97 when I started, so I wasn't trying to lose. I am losing on the 2 week preop liquid diet though. I look forward to Monday morning and I am praying for a successful surgery and speedy recovery for all of us....

For the Hospital- My CPAP, a comfortable outfit to go home in, comfy gown, chapstick, cell & charger, ipad and charger...that's about it. I cannot wait to pack Sunday night!!!  I was told that I would have to stay for 2 days....

OMG!!!!! That make 4 of us, am having my revision on 8/27/12 at 3pm, am so excited but scared. we are so blessed hope everything goes well for all of us :)

Do you want a 5th surgery buddy? My date is August 31st. We could call ourselves the Late Augustine's or whatever works. I'm not on the boards all day but would love to pop in and see how you are all doing.
