band to rny

Any one had a band removed and then a RNY? Was it painful? What should I expect? Complications? How long in hospital?

I had the band and then had it removed .,... i am in the process of being approved for RNY ... I assume the surgery since its considered a "revision" would be laproscopic and simular !!!

 I just had surgery on Monday. LapBand removed, RNY done, hiatal hernia repaired. I stopped using my PCA button by day 2 post op. I was discharged yesterday. This morning I got up and walked a mile. I have to tell you, the pain was not so bad, not as bad as I expected it to be. Even the removal of the drain wasn't so bad. Removing the stitch from the drain was the worst part and it was tolerable.

Yo are doing great, and my inspiration. I am going Monday a.m. My band is 21 ys old and non adjustable, so they are going to have to "dig" it out, I will have a gtube, penrose drain, and a JP drain'I too have a hiatal hernia.
