I got mine on Tuesday...and almost had a panic attack the day before. i think it's normal to be anxious. One thing I might suggest..if your surgeon has not put you on a liquid diet yet....put yourself on one a week before surgery. I think it saved me from majorly freaking out about not having any solid foods for the next 3 weeks. I went on all liquids 9 days before surgery and from that time to today I have lost 25lbs!!!! which totally amazed my doctor when I went in for my first post-op check up today. you'll do great! get some Gas-X strips....you"ll be so bloated from gas after the surgery...painful, debilitating, feels like a heart attack gas!! NO JOKE!! Make sure you pack a pillow for your ride home..and stock up on gatorades, propel fitness water..sf puddings..yogurts etc.

I got my date yesterday!! Aug 26th is the big day....now that I actually have a date, I am more nervous then I was before! No turning back, this is the start of the rest of my life! Anyone else have the 26th?

I just sent you a friend request. I cant wait until I can fit in normal sizes and be able to shop anywhere. I hope by next summer, I'm down 100lbs and look better in a bathing suit....then again I may look like a Sharpei. The shots sounds like a lot of pain, good luck with those. I just have tons of nasty medicine I have to crush and try to gag down. I am starting to get a little nervous. I just cant wait until my appt on the 27th to get all the little details.

Congrats on your surgery date. The chap stick has to be plain because if it's fruit flavored I might eat it...LOL...I start my liquid diet next Friday. Lets keep in touch and see how that goes for us.
I'm on blood thinners so I have to convert over to injections in my stomach twice a day. OUCH! 
and I have to do it myself. Just think....next summer we get to get new clothes.

That's my date too. I just found out today and was grinning ear to ear. And I totally agree with you. I am so ready to move on to the next phase.

I am scared, nervous and excited all at the same time. I feel that I am mostly thankful, that my surgery is in a month because when at the grocery store today I saw a women who was much larger than me and on a scooter and I kept staring at her not because of her weight, but because I saw myself in front of me if I do not have this surgery. I am thankful that at my 285lbs I am still able to move, even though I tire quickly, I am only at the start of diabetes and my blood pressure is controlled by medicine. If I don't have this surgery I too will not be able to walk soon, I am sure of it and that is not fair to my 6 year old or my husband. This surgery is for all of us.
