Topic: RE: How are August RNY People doing today?
Hey! Congrats on your weightloss!!! Well, I had my surgery just one day before you on 8/16/10. I weighed 286 pre-op and today I weigh 196. So 90 lbs down, and to make my goal weight I have about 20 more to go. I was very fortunate that I didn't have any difficulties. I started playing in a soccer league in early september and I'm now playing in a basketball league. I think both activities really have helped me lose the weight fast.

My surgery was August 14th, I weiged 251 the day of my surgery and have lost 57 lbs so far. I weighed 273 a year ago in February. I started working out about 2 months ago. I am under 200 now, so I am happy about that! And I too can eat pretty much anything in little portions, not soooo good. : (

My surgery date was August 19th. I started at 344 and lost about 18 pounds during the 3 weeks before surgery. I'm down nearly 80 lbs now. I had hoped to be down 100 for Christmas, but (unfortunately?) I've tolerated the surgery really well and can eat at least a little of almost anything. I've just started a proper work out routine, so I hope this gets me past the 100 mark for my birthday in mid February.
However, over all I'm really pleased.

I had mine on August 17th and I too am satisfied..I feel so much better now then I did the first few weeks. I am glad to see I am on track with my weight loss by looking at yours. I haven't had much time to work out been very busy. I was afraid I was lacking behind.

I get mad at myself in those situations for letting them get in under my skin.
It's none of her business and she was very rude. Blow it off. It's your life and your body. Move on to the next person who will probably tell you how great you're looking!

I have only told a very few people in my life and I really only have one sister that even mentions it, I have 5 kids and not one of them even ask me about it. ;0( I am not sure what is worse,,,someone being too nosy or people not being concerned enough to ask about it at all.

Topic: RE: Surgery Date Aug 25th,,,,
I am going to be 3 months next week and from the day I got the surgery until today I am only down 28 lbs ( I lost 13 lbs preop, so 41 total) . I am losing so slowly compared to everyone else even my Surgeon said I was losing slow. I mean I know I am 55 but I am active. I am not that great with my food either. I really don't have a ton of time to prepare special meals for myself. I have oatmeal in the mornings and a salad or soup for lunch, then chicken or some type of protein for dinner. I usually have some protein pudding or something in there also. I am not eating a ton of calories and what I am eating I only absorb 70% so what is the deal? I am just about ready to give up!!!

So at work yesterday, one of the volunteers complimented me on my progress, which was very nice. Then she asked me if I'm exercising and I told her I try to walk twice a week. She immediately proceeded to tell me that that wasn't enough and I was going to have loose skin. I engaged, which I shouldn't have. And I told her that I'm always so fatigued and I'm trying my best.
I have never been able to deal very well with unsolicited advise, but it just makes me so angry that she would even say something like that to me...
Or am I angry because she's right. I don't know what's wrong with me...why it's been so hard to get all the water in daily. Why I hate to exercise even tho' I PROMISED myself that with this new tool and drastic change (WLS) that I wouldn't "mess up" I would do things right. I would excercise, etc. I haven't done any of that... I'm so mad at myself.
It's been two months of overwhelming changes, but others still excercise...why don't I do that?
Okay, well I posted because now I do need advise. Anyone dealing with unsolicited advise? With not meeting expectations you set forth for youself? With not exercising?
Bleh....
