I had my RNY Monday August,24 ,2009. I am doing fair.It is hard to get enough liquids & protein in right know , but I know it takes time!
I had my Dr. visit yesterday an I had lost 23 pounds! So, it going to be a journey that will be with ups & downs. But happy I had my surgery.

Topic: 4 weeks post op question, please help!!!
I have a question for anyone that has recently had surgery. I am 4 weeks post op, and for the last 8-9 days I have not lost any weight and am in between 2-3 pounds going up and down. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do to overcome it, and did your weight start coming off again? Thank you in advance!!!

i have been useing "pure protein:" at target 25grams of protein. I have the chocolate kind tastes like chocolate milk. Other wise i heard those pretein shots at target are pretty good... im gonna tryi thos next week :)
Topic: Why do I feel hungry and have cravings still??
I have actually felt my stomach growl but I thought that I would be able to feel physical hunger for months. I usually do just fine though most of the time I feel pretty full. Does anyone know why I still feel hungry? Also, I'm having cravings.. BAD.. could this seriously just be head hunger?

I personally like the EAS 100% Whey Protein. I've even found a strawberry flavor at Target which is great for me because I love strawberry milk! I also mix mine with Mootopia instead of water. Hope this helps.

I just had lapband surgery on August 25,2009 and I am having a VERY hard time finding a protien drink that doesn't make me gag! lol Does anyone have any suggestions?

I did the same thing. I had my sleeve gastrectomy on the 26th and my birthday was the 29th. I'm getting along pretty well, too. I wasn't even bummed not to have any birthday cake.

Well you can go 2 ways with this, my children (7,9,11) I have used this as an educational opportunity, with obesity at an all time high in America you can talk about how excess fuel or poorly chosen fuel can stop a car....etc. Also you can talk about how to be sensitive to people of size. There is a great children's training called IALAC.. I am loving and capable and talks about how our words hurt.
The other way is you can just say that you are watching your food choices because you want to take care of you, so that you can be a stronger and better teacher.
