I'll be at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC for 2 days. From what my surgeon says it's mostly for observation and the tummy/leakage test to be administered. He also said they do a leakage test before I leave the OR. Whew! That's TMI (too much info) for me...

I totally know what you mean by "out of body experience". It's kind of like something that we can't imagine was ever attainable, right? Anyway, I'm most nervous about the possible hair loss that comes with WLS. I'm sure we've all picked one thing about ourselves that we're happy with even though we're overweight. Mine, of course having nothing to do with my body, is my hair. I understand that we just need to keep up on our protein but I'm still nervous.

Im scheduled for RYN laproscopic surgery which in its self is great. Ive lost 109 lbs in 4 month getting ready for this. Was 569 now 460 and I feel the diffrence. Yesterday I get a letter from the hospital, they want $2000 5 days before the surgery or I dont get it. Its got me stressed trying to get the cash. Is there an organizations out there that would foot the bill or pay some of it? Im on medicare and disability so cash isnt something I have alot of. Any information would be helpful.

My date is Aug 10th as well! Getting pretty nervous, it is almost like I think of it as an out of body experience. That is probably not normal, right/

I am so happy for you! I am also having surgery on Aug 11th. I am so excited and I can't wait. I guess next week I will start the liquid diet.

because we all pick doctors that we felt comfortable with and will be great for our WLS. This is the time where we start to like ourselves and say "Hey I am doing this for....Me"

I'm having RNY on August 4th, too!!! I wasn't nervous until today when the doctor gave me my preop diet and surgery date. It's REAL now!! I've been looking into this for 3 years, making sure it's what's best for me. I'm ready!! Scared of all the changes that will be taking place, but excited at the same time. Thank you all for posting your true feelings. I'd like to keep in touch and ask you to be my friends through this ordeal, if that's ok with all of you. I'm in Texas, and would love friends from everywhere to share this experience...
