I am having a DS surgery in Kettering (Dayton) Ohio, on August 3, 2009, as well!  I am so excited for everyone!

Quick question....

I fought REALLY hard for my DS surgery.  Now that I am approved, and so very close... I am starting to feel... well... kinda depressed and sad.  What the heck is this about?  I know that this is what I NEED.. and want...  guess I am just anxious.

I feel nervous about losing my 'shield' (fat) that has protected me for so long....

I am an August 3rd RNY "baby"!  I have heard of others referring to their surgery date as their "surgery birthday" and I like the idea.  I'm very excited for my surgery.  These next two weeks can not go by fast enough.

Interesting enough I am not having mine at the hospital but am having the lap band done as an out patient done by Mario Almanza in Tijuana. So very exciting, guess I am counting down too.

That is awsome and I kinda have the same story....I have my date set for Aug. 4th and I was originally going to get the RNY and then changed my mind and thought that my surgery rep changed the surgeries to the band and after long thought and communications I have decided against the lapband. I had already had my date when i called so i was thinking 'great now i will probly get a new date' but noone changed my surgery type so I am now getting the RNY like I FINALLY  decided on. YAY!
