This is happening rather quick, I just got insurance approval today and it's scheduled for next Tuesday! It took 11 days for approval and happened on the first go through, I was expecting a much tougher fight!
I'm so ready for this. It has been a few years and it is finally going to happen.

Topic: x-post A couple tips for pre ops for right after surgery
SW:230 CW:159 GW:135
I came home from the hospital just yesterday and I have a couple small tips for pre-ops for right after their surgery. I never heard anything quite like these tips before my surgery so I hope I'm presenting something new. :)
When I took my walks in the hospital my tummy was still pretty tender so I didn't really want to straighten all the way up as I walked and stretch it. AS a result of that and staying in the curvy hospital bed at night etc. my back has gotten pretty sore and I wish I'd gotten used to walking with a straight back sooner than I did. One more pain I could avoid! I didn't really think about how it could be hurting my back as I was doing it. It was just more comfy at the time
Now that I'm home I'm trying to get in my liquids. My boyfriend and I came up with a pretty good way to make sure I got them without overdoing it with my small tender tummy. He helped me find this free program online called 'Secs' that can be an automatic repeating timer on my computer. I set it up with a sound to play every 3 minutes and that's when I take a sip. I got through 32 oz. yesterday of a watered down protein bullet after I was home from the hospital meaning 42 grams of protein as well as half a thing of protein soup before I went to bed. I'm working on another one of those bullet mixes today and i'm nearly halfway through. I'm sure there are other brands of timers as well for your computer besides that one. My boyfriend found one for his phone too, but I knew it wouldn't stay with me every day like my computer would. I also set my laptop not to go to sleep when it was plugged in or shut so I wouldn't have to bother with it.
So my advice... walk upright from day 1 and find a repeating timer of some sort to help you remember when to sip. You don't wanna sip too much too fast but if you forget to sip you don't want to have trouble getting in your protein or fluids. :)
Good luck guys! I hope your surgery is uneventful like mine was! :)
