Topic: Aug 11th is the day that will change my life!
I'm a ball full of emotions about my surgery! I'm scared of the pain, i'm nervous about the IV, I'm excited about possible results, i'm terrified of complications, but mostly i'm just READY!
I just can't believe it is only 5 days away! I honestly can't even contemplate this even working because i have tried soo many other things and failed but i'm hoping against hope that it will!
My God is in control and thus i will not fear. He is my strength and my provision! I have to rest in that for now! :)
God bless all of you in your journey whether you are still waiting for approval, you are about to begin, or you are on your way...may you succeed well!

I'm getting sleeved on 8/11 too! I'm really excited and a bit scared. But I like the way he put it...look at all the positive things that will come out of it rather that the potential complications. We can ride this thing together! Do you have a list of questions to ask the doctor right before surgery. I've been trying to think of the things I should be asking and compiling a list. I have:
-How many cuts will I have?
-Will I have a catheter when I wake up? (please say no, this really freaks me out)
-What size bougie will he use to size my new pouch? What size is best for long term results?
-Will I have gall bladder issues in the future?
-What kind of leak test will I have to do, if any, post-op?
-How many rows of stitches does he use and does he over-stitch?
-Can I use maderma on my incisions and how soon after can I start applying it?
- Can I take those new adult gummie vitamins? (They taste good and really easy to get down)
-Can he give me nausea meds before I even wake up? (I am scared of pain and possibly throwing up and injuring myself)
Well that's all I can come up with. Please let me know if you know of any others. Better ask before than get some unexpected surprises after. Good luck!!

August 11th for me too. I'm feeling the same way. Nervous, anxious and sooo not looking forward to the pain but I am just as excited about having more energy to really start enjoying my life!
We should all post here after we get home and let the 8/11 crew know you are fine.

Wow. I'm really a East Coast girl, raised in CT! I will pray for you if you pray for me. I will certainly post as soon as I'm able. They say I will be released on Wednesday, but we'll see. I'm really starting to get nervous about the pain. Is it getting to you yet? I've never had surgery before and I really don't know how bad it could be.
Keep my fingers crossed for a pain free surgery!!

Ronnie, I am doing VSG on Monday also. How unbelievably thoughtful of you to write such a beautiful prayer for others when you could be thinking only of yourself. You will be in my prayers and in the prayers of many. God bless you for your kindness and God speed. See you on the other side also.

Be very careful, Jan. I failed with the Lap-Band because of ice cream, it is my downfall! Sugar free still has tons of fat in it. It also creates really bad gas. I am having a VSG on the 10th and will never eat ice cream again. Best of luck to you!
