I love to hear about other people experiences .. i dont want to be blind sided if something like that does happen to me..I love to knwo how everyones daily life is after surgery...
about 2 weeks ago i was freaking out.
but there was alot going on.. Doctor apts and test to be done and My works Flma papers didnt get back yet(got them on friday) but i was STRESSSED
I sit here now with only today and tomorrow to go and just think about everything that i wont beable to do.. but the the things i will be able to do i believe out weight everything else.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.
PATS test are the pre-op tests: blood work, ekg, chest exray, urine test ect to ensure you are ready for surgery.
The day is approaching fast. Best of luck as I cannot wait for our journey to begin.

It is not necessary to shave however if you are self conscious go ahead. However any where that you need to be shaved for surgery they will shave regardless. Each surgeon is a bit different on that one. In all the surgeries I have observed they have the RN shave you right before as part of prep if necessary.

Me too I am being banded then .. Yeah! I have been on the liquid diet since the 6th my surgeon makes us do it for 2 full weeks.

I've read on other posts the following suggestions:
CHAPSTICK
your own favorite pillow
a book or magazine
*chapstick*
slippers (most hospitals give you nubby socks, though)
maybe a light robe or housecoat
chapstick!
iPod or walkman
From my own previous experiences, a hospital shower is not like one at home or a motel.
I will not be bringing any toiletries other than lotion, and my toothbrush/toothpaste. (and chapstick). Most hospitals have small bottles of shampoo and soap for the one shower you'll probably have there.
Most important: don't forget to walk far, and walk often! And use that little breathing thingy. :)

Haven't heard that but I do know they advise not to shave before pedicures because of open pores and infection so it would seem to make sense. I didn't, I think it was 2 days before surgery. Good Luck!

Sounds like a plan. I went out with my husband and had a nice steak tonight. tomorrow back on the liquid. I think this has been the worst part of the whole ordeal. I swam in our pool for 2hours tonight. So I hope I burned off some stuff. lol. Good luck and I will be in touch.
