Topic: RE: To be or not to be nervous that's the question
Hi. I wasn't particularly nervous either. My surgeon is wonderful and it was a top-notch hospital. Like you, I was excited to get a move on, you know.
Good luck. I hope it goes (went?) well.

AHH today was the BIG day.. I wasn't too nervous, excited, anxious, to be done, frustrated that it took so long maybe but I wasn't nervouse because in my mind I was at total peace with my choice. It sounds like you are too. I do hope you are at home comfortable and recovering nicely.

Topic: RE: TO Share Or NOT to share.... that is the question
I am telling most people. There is only one co-worker so far that I felt uncomfortable sharing with. I just think about how laughable Star Jones was when she would not admit to having the surgery. I feel better about being open about it but am not going to post signs or talk to people that I know will be annoying about it. Surprisingly, so far most people have just told me that I look rested and well, like summer agreed with me (I am a teacher). My big question is how much I am going to share with my students as they are sure to comment on the weight loss.
Topic: RE: RNY Monday!
Yes, I noticed the same thing. I had my surgery on Monday and had done the preop diet for 2 weeks before. I have the constant "sugar-free" taste in my mouth. I find if I brush my teeth more ofen and drink water instead of crystal lite, it goes away for a while.
Good Luck!

Congrats! That's my date too, I'm thinking of changing the date I celebrate my birthday to my surgery date because I feel that I have been given a new lease on life. Best of luck to all..
Topic: To be or not to be nervous that's the question
I'm just wondering is it normal NOT to be nervous at all? Here I am 2 days before surgery (its Monday, August 31st) and I'm not nervous...I don't like hospitals but at the same time the usual feeling I get has not come upon me. I'm just so anxious for this whole thing to be OVER!!! I don't know how much more of this pre-op liquid diet I can take!
Topic: RE: Started your liquid diet today?
Hi there
I do feel your pain, I am currently 6 days into my liquid diet and 2 days until my surgery. I pray daily for the strength to make it. I also have found major support in my family and friends, they call and text me daily "just to check up" and that really helped me. I also fixed a big breakfast for my co-workers in my pod as my way of saying "I'm sorry" for how horrible I would be the week before my surgery. And it worked they all joined in to help me. They didn't talk about food or eat at their desks and 2 of my friends joined my on the liquid diet!! Their support was invaluable to me. As I get to the end of my journey I feel my resolve weakening but I know that its mind or matter so I just won't give it!
