I finally got approved on Friday . . . surgery 8/11

Hi NewHope.......My surgery is scheduled for Monday!  I've been waiting nearly 2.5 months for it to get here, and now it almost that time.  I am so excited more than scared because I need to have a healthier lifestyle and drop the pounds.  I'm looking at all of the positive things that will come of it rather than what could go wrong.

I hope that you will do well with your procedure also.

I'm getting sleeved on 8/11 too!  I'm really excited and a bit scared. But I like the way he put it...look at all the positive things that will come out of it rather that the potential complications.  We can ride this thing together!  Do you have a list of questions to ask the doctor right before surgery. I've been trying to think of the things I should be asking and compiling a list. I have:

-How many cuts will I have?
-Will I have a catheter when I wake up? (please say no, this really freaks me out)
-What size bougie will he use to size my new pouch? What size is best for long term results?
-Will I have gall bladder issues in the future?
-What kind of leak test will I have to do, if any, post-op?
-How many rows of stitches does he use and does he over-stitch?
-Can I use maderma on my incisions and how soon after can I start applying it?
- Can I take those new adult gummie vitamins? (They taste good and really easy to get down)
-Can he give me nausea meds before I even wake up? (I am scared of pain and possibly throwing up and injuring myself)

Well that's all I can come up with. Please let me know if you know of any others. Better ask before than get some unexpected surprises after.   Good luck!!
