SURGERY DATE AUG 3

OK MY FIRST TIME POSTING ANYTHING SO I JUST FOUND OUT I HAVE A SURGEY DATE TODAY (YESTERDAY 7/23/09) IT IS IN ABOUT ONE WEEK. I AM SO NERVOUS BUT I KNOW I NEED TO DO THIS BECAUSE NOTHING ELSE HAS WORKED. I AM IN THE LOW SCALE O F WEIGHT LOSS OF 224 PDS AND 5 FEET 7 INCHES TALL.. BUT I AM DIABETIC.  ANY UNTIL THE NEXT STEP. JD

Hi all well this is also my first post as ive only just found this site and with only 4 days utill my surgery im releived ive finaly found other people whom i can talk to who completely understand what it is im about to go through. After having to appeal for this surgery for the past 2 years then being on the surgery waiting list since jan this year im a little in shock thats its finaly here and cant wait to start my journey on the long road to a healthy future.....regards laura x

Wow I can't believe you live sooo close.  No I am having the surgery at Hackensack Hospital.  I am having RNY is that what you are having?

Congratulations to everyone. For those of you who are first time newbies you'll find this site invaluable. The support and inspiration are amazing.

Since we're in this thing together, let's make sure we leave enough space for each other on that loser's bench!

I am also having my surgery on August 3rd. What is everyone else doing? I am having a lap band removal with sleeve resection. I will be so glad to get rid of this band. Hopefully my doc will let me keep it .

How long have you had your band?  I take it that you did not like it?  So, you are having a sleeve done now?

I have had my band a little over a year. I did like my band; however, it does not like me. I am having the sleeve revision done when my doc removes my band. I just want to keep my band, in a jar, you know. The lille devil has caused me so much pain over the last year, I just want to see it, maybe run over it, put it in the disposal, etc....lol!

I, too, am having the DS surgery on August 3rd!!  I am so very happy for all of us.

My doctor has me on a two week low fat (less than 40-50 grams/day) diet.  The day before surgery is all clear liquids with a wonderful Magnesium Citrate drink in the early evening....

I hope everyone is excited for their surgeries!
