August 25 is the date. Had my EGD today (and I was worried about nothing that was the easiest thing I have ever done) and everything done. Now just pre dieting continues. Difficult to lose pounds and take antidiabetics and eat those carbs etc, but already seeing differences at the tape measure by increasing proteins and only eating complex carbs. Down 2 inches in waist with about 5 pounds gone. Good luck to the rest of the August buddies!!! Linda

Finally got my surgery date this morning! My dad and I will be having our RNY August 19th at Del Sol Bariatrics in El Paso, Tx!!! WOOT WOOT!

I was actually supposed to have my surgery TODAY, but the doctor had a death in the family and had to reschedule. I was totaly fine with it and ready to go.. now, well, now I have to wait another two weeks and I'm getting scared. My Aunt had the RNY last year and had some major complications that almost killed her. Found out yesterday that we have the same dr. I never bothered to ask her who did hers before. I almost threw up when I found out. She did say that they did a full investigation and it turned out to be a mistake by the hospital, not the doctor. She got some kind of internal infection that ended up blowing her stiches and caused leakage, blah blah blah. She told me that even though she had a really hard time, she would do it again in a second. I know I shouldn't be worried. I'm much healthier than she was, but, well, I'm still scared. Anyone else?
