Great Kelly and Suzanne thanks for your support. I am so excited I can't stand it, and yes every once in a while I get nervous. But the more I think about it the more I can't wait for what life has in store for me as I finally lose enough weight to feel comfortable again. Roller coasters, bicycles, nice clothes are on my can't wait to do list. The future will bring : no more harsh looks and unkind remarks (about weight at least), and having to let these things bounce off me (like superman). Well that isn't really different I kind of have an "if they dont like it that is there problem" attitude now anyway but it will be nice to not have to wear that armor all the time. I know the future may sound a little idealic, cruel and unkind people will continue to be cruel and unkind, but I will know I did what I could for my health and any other thoughts/comments others have will be "their problem". Knowing i am doing something great for me and my health keeps me smiling now for sure and I expect will have me grinning in a year. My prayers and blessings go out to both of you. I cant wait to chat with you as we journey along and discover the good (and bad) of post op and beyond. Peace, happiness, and God's guidance as the surgeon preforms his miracles to both of you. I am having my lap band tomorrow...August 7th, 2008 YEAH!!!! I started my journey in October 2007 with attending a seminar. I had 6 months of counseling with a dietician and my internist before my insurance would approve the surgery. I'm excited to start my new life, but it's a little un-nerving - even though I believe I am well prepared. I practice taking my "small-sips" and I've tried the different proteins to select my favorites. I know tonight was not the "last-supper" and in a few weeks I will be able to eat "normal" food again (not liquified,mushified, etc.) so...wish me luck!
