Hi, I'm having gastric bypass in September or October (yeah!) and have been getting some mixed responses regarding a prescription I routinely take, Prozac. Some say the plastic capsules are a no-no after surgery, my psychiatrist says they are fine, the pharmacist doesn't know, but told me it is available in liquid form. This is regular Prozac, not the slow release kind. Anyone care to share their experience with me? Thanks.

i take a medicine called depakote for epilepsy and i just found out friday that it is delayed release and i cant take it. my surgery date is thursday! apparently there is a liquid form of the medicine which i am hoping to switch to. i called the dr today about it but never heard back from them and they didnt call it in to the pharmacy. so i have to call again tomorrow and try and get this taken care of. so scared i might not be able to get the surgery on thursday! i have waited so long. why didnt someone tell me before during all of this that it was delayed release!!! beth
