Oh yeah, I'm going through them big time right now. My surgery is scheduled for 8/26. As much as I want to do this, I keep worrying about what it will be like immediately after surgery - like will I be in a lot of pain, will there be complications. But, the more I read posts from veterans on this board the more comfortable I feel. I just think what we are going through is normal - kind of like pre-wedding jitters! Stay strong and stay on this board. You will get loads of good advice.

So are you RNY? I have been on the forum alot the last two days. It has helped my nerves quite a bit. I'm looking forward to the results, just not the post-op pain! My daughter is doing great. She has lost 108 lbs. She wants to lose about another 40-50 lbs. Recently she has been going through some of the "food addiction" struggles. She has gotten in the habit of eating Cheez it's - and of course she can it a bunch of those throughout the day. But, she sent me a link to the daily plate food diary and we are going to start doing it together. She will be back on track in no time! Thanks for the prayer, that is what will get me through for sure. Today I found the verse that I will carry with me through this surgery. I will be praying for you as well. Let's get in touch once we get home. I'll be thinking about you. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone will keep me safe. Psalm 4:8.

I am only 33 years old. and when I told my family they flipped at first.. you are too young... there has to be better ways... its not right for you... they ll had these horror stories tyo tell me... I was scared out of my mind at first.. but then after I talked more to them and explained how much research I had done. That the dr. was certified in these kind oof surgeries. and even took them to a support group with me so they could listen to othe peoples stories, they came around. and now my family are one of my biggest supporters... ou need to value their opinions. but in the end yo are the one who needs to be sure that this is what you need and what you want. everyone is different. Best of luck in whatver you decide.... nancy

I told no one but my wife. No one. I lied my coworkers. I lied to my family. I am close to my family, but I do not live near them. I will likely see them again around Christmas. I have a feeling I am going to have to think of something to explain why a different person shows up at their house!

I first told my husband who didn't know what to think. After that I have told everyone. Since I went to Puerto Vallarta Mexico to have my surgery I had a lot of worriers...I just kept reading and asking questions so that when people would ask I had an answer right away for them. My mom went with me and was pleased with everything as well. Hang in there. Remember you are doing this for you.
