Topic: RE: Surgery on Monday
Hi Lynn,
Best Wishes for the beginning of your new life. I am right there with you. My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. I'm nervous, but the more I read on this forum the better I feel. I will keep you in my prayers.

Topic: RE: Aetna Insurance
I have Aetna and had no problems other than they were swamped and it took 2 months for the approval. There are two kinds of groups I think they said. My group is a YRP number and it is something specific to Indiana. Anyway, NO, it was not a problem and they went with it and paid for almost all of it. I am very pleased and have no complaints.
Best of luck to you!

Topic: RE: Pre-surgery HOOPS
Hi Patricia,
I also had Aetna and decided not to jump through all the hoops! Since you live in Texas you may be able to do what I did! I went to Mexico......yes, Mexico. No hoops and cheaper than what my co-pay would have been! Wonderful experience....better care than I have ever gotten here in the states on other surgeries. Google Bariatric centers in Mexico. I went to Tijiuna but I think there are some in Monterrey...If you need more info I am here. I set it up and had it done within 6 weeks! I had the surgery done July 1st....have lost 48 pounds so far including the 11 before surgery. Oh, I live in Arizona.

Topic: Hair Loss
Hi,
I had the Lap Band surgery Feb 28th, 2008. I have lost 55 lbs so far. I am losing my hair though. Does any one have any suggestions to stop the hair loss? I have just started Biotin. I heard that helps. I would aprreciate any other suggestions.
Thank you.. Misty
Topic: new here..and I am looking for some answers please
I was wondering if any one can tell me if North Carolina Medicaid pays for bypass surgery? And if they do what is the co- pay for it? I need it bad as I am 31 years old 5ft.1 and weigh over 240. My BMI is 40+ . Any help would be great. Thank you
Michelle
Topic: RE: Finally alone after surgery - feeling really good
Still waiting on my LB day. Congratulations to you though. Did you have the bypass surgery. From what I understand, mine is outpatient. Starts at 8:30 in the AM and should be home by 5:30 in the PM at the latest.
Topic: RE: how did you tell family and friends??? before or after???
There are a couple of immediate family members that I told and my children. The buck stops there. I am not particularly interested in the opinion of anyone outside of my circle of proven support.
Everyone else can speculate and as the weight comes of I will take it on a case by case basis.
