I am 3 week post and straving,I won't have my first fill until 6 weeks post-op,I only did liquids for about a week,I then started on Instant oatmeal with peaches and skim milk-No Sugar,Cream of wheat,mash potatoes,and sub way tuna..But go slow I tried gravy 5 days post op and got really sick at 4am in the morning..Did not gag but had a really upset tubby and took phenagran for a week after just due to fear.
Go slow and don't push to much at once..I would start with milky mash potatoes the first and sencnd day they seem to be gentle. Good Luck!

It's been 3 weeks for me also, I eat cream of wheat,or instant oatmeal with peaches,I add skim milk but no sugar.
If I am in a hurry I drink a protein drink.

The hair loss comes from not getting enough protein! So you need to find a come protein drink to add to your diet and eat more protein like chicken.

Good Luck To both Of You! I had my Lap band 8-01-08 so I am only 3 weeks out.....It only took about 1 1/2 hours for me to be banded and I never had to take the 1st pain pill although I did have discomfort walking,actually I walked bent over for 12 days,But on the 13th day it was as if I never had surgery : ) I was back to normal...The bad part is when the swelling leaves so does the retriction you feel,Just wanted to let you know because I wasn't prepared to be hungrey again..But the good news is I get my 1st fill on the 17th of Sept after a 6 weeks of healing and the doctor says I will start losing with that fill so I look forward to it.

Has anyone been told they could not have a fill? I went for my third one today and they told me I was not eating enough.

Hi Sue,
I had the RnY on 15 Aug 2008 and also take prozac but the generic. The day after surgery they brought me three 10 mg capsules. I was really scared of taking them since I could barely handle a few small swallows of water. When I asked the surgeon he said it was OK to take them but I should take them one capsule an hour until I took them all. Since I take generic fluoxetine, I take one and a half tablets rather than the capsules. I haven't had any problem with the pills. If you are worried about the capsules consider talking to your pharmacist.
