UT OH Was I supposed to continue wearing that support band? I haven't really worn it since most of the soreness went away. I don't have any tubes or anything. Geesh I honestly was trying to do everything to a T to what my doctor said to do. And thanks for the congratulations and back at you. :)
I am 9 days post op and i too am itching. Not as bad as i was around days 5 and 6. I think mine was due to the support band. the entry port in the center of my stomach itches the most, and of the four smaller incisions it has some swelling and most of the itching. actually my whole fromt belly itches alot. other than some slight pain from where the tube was everything seems ok. Glad to know two other people itch. Congradulations to both of you on your surgeries.
I had my surgery August 20 and I also have itching. All of my bandages are now off and it seems where the port is, is the itchiest. I was glad to read about someone else also itching as it was concerning me. I also have a swollen area where my port is which is just slightly swollen. Do you have any swelling? How has the first 2 weeks been for you? I've done well with all the liquid diets.... but sure would like something to actually chew up. I end my solid liquids this wednesday and then move on to pureade (?) food, like babyfood. Let me know how your doing beings we are close in our surgery dates. Hope to hear back.

Hi Dawn, I am in Tucson. Monash did my RnY surgery on August 4. There is a support group at St Joseph's once a month, I think Monash's website may have the date and times. If not, call St Joe's and ask them. There is another one on the Northwest side. I went to the St Joe's group before my surgery and it was almost all lap band folks, only two RnY's out of about 30 people. I haven't been since my surgery, due to some complications, but I plan on going again. My sister had an open bypass two years ago with Schwartz and she has been my best resource and help during this time. I wouldn't have made it without her. Go to the support group meetings and put yourself out there to meet people who've already had the surgery. Most of them are more than happy to help. This forum is a good resource, too. I haven't signed in yet in the Arizona forum, but that is next. Good Luck!

Hold your head high, you are doing a great job!
Oh Wow! I thought i was the only one that did that ... I went to sleep the other night and had a nightmare that I had eaten all of a subway footlong but a couple of bites. I threw it in the trash and was so scared and ashamed. Then my son woke me up asking for my cell phone to play games on it. Whew! I was so happy he did. It definitely has given me more incentive to stick with the clear liquid thing. And what the heck I am 10 days down and 3 more to go til my doctors appointment for my next instructions! :)
Is anybody still having pain? My left, upper side is really painful.
