Topic: RE: what to take to the hospital
Out of all the stuff I packed in my bag, the only thing I ended up getting out of it, was my oversized nightgown I bought to wear home and my fuzzy wuzzy slippers. My sister was manning my phone. Didn't read the magazines, or hardly watch tv. I sipped water and pushed my morphine button every 6 minutes. I walked 3 seperate times during the evening. So I was excited when I got to go home at noon the next day!! :-)

Yes, its from the lack of protein. Up that, you want to take in at least 50g a day. I went to Vitamin Shoppe and got the 42g New Whey Liquid Protein shots. They taste alright and its 2.9 ozs, zero sugar, 176 calories. Just a suggestion. I know I didn't want to have to nurse a 8-12 oz glass of protein shake. So I got those, MUCH better.
Topic: RE: These itchies are killing me...
OH yeah, I'm itching too and boy is it driving me nuts. I can't itch it, so I scratch around out. I make circles around those spots lol to help, but it still itches. And like they said, its because its healing, so smile and remember its a good thing.
I never got a support band, so not sure what that is!!??

Topic: 2 weeks post op
Hey everyone! My name is Stacy and I'm from around the Chattanooga Area. I had my band done on August 18 by Dr. Stephen Boyce out of Knoxville. I am now 2 weeks and 1 day post op and 13 pounds lighter (as of today). I didn't have a preop diet so the 13 pounds is since the day I went in for surgery. I see peop that had the surgery the same day or close to when i did and they have lost more weight than I have and that really depresses me. I know everyone loses at a different rate and speed, but I want to lose more than what I have lost. Does anyone know if the weight these other people have lost is since their surgery or does it include their preop diet also?
Topic: RE: 1 wk post op and hungry? or head hungry?
1 wk post op here and very relieved to hear others dreamed of food. I have no hunger at all, am eating because I must, even my family has not bothered me. But I dreamed I was at a covered dish dinner and I loaded my plate with all carbs...it was insane. And as I sat there and ate, someone said I thought you had RNY surgery and then I was horrified and felt sick,,,then I woke up....So the head is playing with us........ cause like I said...no hunger here. What I miss is the textures and tastes right now...........sick of the crystal light taste (they all have the same after taste) but I am not having problems following the rules. Will be glad when soft/pureed foods are allowed.
Keep up the good work everyone
