What was your surgery date? Aug 26

How are you feeling? Sore still!  Working on getting better, day by day it gets a little easier

What is your favorite food on your menu? Cream of wheat, I know I will get tired of it soon.

How much have you lost? 22 lbs since the 26th

What type of surgery did you have? lap RNY plus gall bladder removal

What else? not too much else, I am very excited to move though the stages of eating.  I have to wait to get clearance to work out but I really do not feel like it yet since I am so sore.

I was in an OH room and found out that more than likely it was like a dumping syndrome due to the fat in avocados.   The bites Cuz I love them.   I too measure everything I eat.

I have no idea but I do know I have to measure everything.  For a few days,  I would just put a few tablespoons into a bowl and call it a day.   After the pain etc, I am back to measuring everything, make sure I eat slow and do little bites.  I hope it gets better for you!

Thank goodness for good friends!

I have gotten a lot of support from my DH.  A lot more then I thought I would.  Crazy as it sounds, he thought I would chicken out.  He has a bad sweet tooth and tries not to eat in front of me.  Even though I did catch him with milk and cookies in the kitchen after he sent me to bed.

This surgery has been one of the biggest blessings I have had in a long time but I have been trying to figure out how to get a treadmill as where I live it is really too hot to walk outside lately. (at least for me).  When I started looking they were just way out of my price range.   I mentioned to a friend of mine that I had posted on a cheapcycle board I belong to online that I was looking for one and wanted to get home and see if anyone replied.  She told me she had one and to call her in an hour so she could check with her husband to make sure it was okay.   I asked her how much she wanted for it and she told me nothing.   It was mine.  All I have to do is go pick it up.  She said it is really nice.  It has the controlls to make it change to an uphill course, the heart rate monitor, as well as different programs to do.   I am soooo thankful for friends like her.   This will be just what I need till I can get my weight down enough to have the courage to go in a gym and actually work out.   She is definitely a blessing. :)   Anyone else have a blessing they care to share?

For the past day and a half everytime I eat or drink anything I have some pretty good pain.  At first I thought I had eaten a little two much and it would pass.  It is finally starting to get a little bit better.   I was told that when first out of surgery one doesn't really feel full as the nerves and all had been cut and that  was the reason for measuring everything in the beginning.   Is it the nerves are healing and now I am really feeling how it feels when something goes down?

It depends on the kind of work you do.   I work in a correctional setting and wanted to go back after the first week but my doc refused to clear me until at least my 2 week visit.   I have been back and feel great.   Personally for me, going back to work got me moving alot more than when I was at home.   Good Luck with your surgery!
