Hi. Thank you very much for your reply. I am not currently on any medication (op was 11th Aug 08). My doctor called me this evening and has said that he will prescribe something for me to ease the indigestion. He mentioned 4-5 different options and I am sure that the two you have noted were included in those he mentioned. He also said that as I am two months post op, you tend to get more daring in terms of experimenting with different food and portion sizes, which may be the cause. Think there is definitely some truth in that as well. He suggested that I go back to soups, yoghurts and that kind of stuff for a bit until I feel better too.

August 11 - surgery date
Feeling great!
Favorite food - I like em all, same problem as before surgery- taste has not changed- however, SF popsicles from Kroger have really been a blessing when i wanted something but didn't know what.......also chicken noodle soup was a lifesaver when nothing sounded good in the beginning. Now I really like scrambled eggs with green pepper and cheese! Laughing cow cheese, liver and onions if you chew it really well. I could go on and on.......
I've lost 44 pounds since July 11 (I did a one month liver shrink diet)
I had laproscopic RNY
Having trouble with water making me feel bad, nauseous.......really have to sip, sip, sip, because I can't do ANY gulping to try and get in my water all at once.

I think that most insurance companies don't even cover the nutritionist expenses anyway. None that I know of ......

Hi Wendy,
Does your doctor have you taking anything such as Zantac or Protonix daily? I to will get indigestion from stomach acid if I don't take my Protonix every morning.

Hi everyone. For the last couple of weeks I have been getting slight but noticably and at times uncomfortable indigestion. Is this normal? Should I be asking my doctor for indigestion remedy or will it pass? Has it got anything to do with what I am eating? Any advice appreciated.

Hi. I had my first post operation appointment with my dietician last week and asked her similar question. My pattern of weight loss has been really good weight loss one week and then nothing for 2 weeks followed by another excellent week. I have been tracking it on a chart. She said that it is normal. Initial high weight loss has a lot to do with water loss. She said your body thinks it is being starved and hangs onto fat a bit longer, takes time for your metabolism to change with your eating habits. Also said that the slower weight loss is better as it means you are losing fat rather than bone and muscle. Hope that information is useful. Hang in there, it will take time but the longer it takes to come off, the longer it will stay off. Wendy x

That's funny. Hearing everyone say they could tell by my face that I had lost so much already prompted me to take the pictures. It was truly enlightening for me to see the pictures.
My puppy is a goldendoodle. He will be 2 in November so the picture is just a bit outdated. He is quite the little teddy bear and is 110% mom's boy!
