Hello all! I have been a long time lurker, and finally decided to go for WLS. I followed all your great advice and received my insurance approval very quickly! Just 5 days after jumping through all the hoops. It took me about 6 weeks to get all my tests and consultations done and about one week of tracking down the doctors that were a bit slow in sending the reports to my surgeon. So from my first visit to my surgeon on May 30th, I had my approval the last week of July. My surgery date is August 29th! and Im on my last week or so before I go on my liquid pre-op diet. I decided to go with the Lap-Band mainly because the RNY seems like such a major overhaul of my plumbing! I believe I made the correct choice an my surgeon agrees. But Im sure Im the norm since I'm quite nervous that I made the right choice. Hopeing that the Band will help me lose the weight.. Hopeing that all will go well (this is my first surgery in my 38 years)... Hoping that the band doesn't slip or cause complications that will require it to come out etc... Anyway's Im here to intoduce myself and offer any guidance on the insurance hurdles that I found to be able to navigate quite easily. Kindest Regards, Rob

Hi, Rob. Wishing you the best of luck with your surgery. I'm having mine (RNY) on August 27th. I think these last two weeks are going to fly right by. I think that everyone always wonders beforehand if they made the right choice and you will do fine. Melissa
