Topic: RE: Weight loss for this week?
Dear All,
You know, when I falter, (which is every stinking day) I read posts like this and remember it IS within reach. I too have been green with envy over Tia's loss - then I started using her as an inspiration to keep plugging along. As she and Brenda have reminded me, everyone is different; everyone loses at their own rate. I have gained this last week for the very first time ever, but, I deserved to gain!!! I was not following the plan, I was eating way too many carbs and HORROR of HORRORS did not exercise ONCE. So, I blew the candles out on the cake at my pity party, and got walking. I'd love to say "shizaaam", I lost the 3 lbs, but I have some hard work ahead, and it's going to take more than one day to get back on track.
I do sincerely agree, Tia, Kathleen, Brenda - you are all amazing,
WE ALL ARE for having the initial courage to begin this journey and continue no matter what rate we "travel" towards our individual goals.
Please accept my sincerest congratulations and back pats!!! Thank you for your honesty and hard work, and for sharing so that we can have something to guide us.

Kathleen---
You, my friend, are a half a dozen pounds from your goal.....six pounds! Do you remember when you were just starting this journey? I remember how it seemed like FOREVERRRRRR until surgery and then it seemed foreverrrrrrr until solid food, and foreverrrrrrrrrr until goal.....now look....you're six pounds away...what an incredible feat!
I'm as proud of you and Tia as I've ever been of anyone! It doesn't take a meeting in person to know you love and look up to people who are in your daily life from afar. I just know that you two have almost reached an incredibly wonderful goal--I'd LOVE to see the pride in your moms' eyes! I just know they are soooo proud--wherever they might be at this moment!
Keep the journey alive and rollin'!! I can't wait to see where it takes us next!
Love you bunchessssss!!

You're very welcome, Tia! I struggling with the last 20-25 lbs but I know I'd much rather ALWAYS struggle with THIS end of the weight scale challenge than the end we all started from, that's for sure!
I think being soooo close to goal is just the greatest! You and Kathleen truly inspire me to keep pushing to reach my goal. I know I'll do it! I'm not going to let myself give up. Even if it takes me another year to reach goal, I'll make it!
Just think, Tia, it wasn't that long ago you reached onederland, and now you're the one pound pounder to that goal! YOU GO GIRL!
You look truly amazing!
Hugsssssss

Thank you, Kathleen! I think you all are the inspiration! I feel like this is my home inside my home, ya know? We are a family here, not just WLS recipients. We have come so far together and I feel like we'll always be here for each other.
You all inspire me to keep on track and when I do fall off track I know I can tell you about it and you'll show me where my bootstraps are and help me pick myself up. It just doesn't get anymore inspirational than that! We are the key to helping each other be successful and healthy. Sooooo....
As Ty Pennington (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) puts it......
LET'SSSSSSSSSS DOOOOO ITTTTTTTTT!!
Love you all bunches!

Hi ya my beautiful friend! CONGRATS on the job! Sounds like it is awesome. Sounds like u also have an excellent exercise routine worked out...good for you. Getting that in is not always easy. Since I have my Grandbaby most of the time, I cannot go to the gym like I used to, but that is ok. YOU are such an inspiration to all of us! Take care of yourself and do not work too hard. Much love and hugs to you BEAUTIFUL! Love Kathleen

Thank you, Donna! I just know that our August group is an exceptional group of gals and guys (the guys--whenever they show their faces! lol) that is sure to be a HUGE success! We seem to really stick together when there are many questions we face everyday. I also know that "quit" is only a word when my teenage sons are harassing me LOL. We have it made as long as we stick together and keep encouraging each other through the great times and the rough times.
We ARE the winning losers!
This journey has made me aware that dreams do come true, and my mom was right when she has always told me, "honey, you can do ANYTHING you put your mind and heart into."
She's 10000000% right!
I love you all!

Topic: New job with new challenges...
Hi everyone! I just wanted to drop a quick note to tell you about my new job. I got an office job for a local store,Linton's Big R in Powell, Wyoming in the accounts payable department. I also do purchase ordering and do most of the ordering for toys and housewares. It's a challenge in many aspects, but mainly because I've never done this type of job before. There is a VERY large learning curve with this job. I'm loving it! I've never been shy of facing a challenge and I don't intend to start now. I'm also still finishing up my internship position with the college I attend. Two jobs, wow! This oughta help with some bills!
One of the great things about having this fulltime job is that it puts me on a stringent schedule and keeps me out of the fridge and the cupboards! I will NEVER take snacks with me to work, jus****er and protein drinks. I get an hour for lunch so I'll be able to eat my meal then and won't need any snacks. I've found this to be MUCH better for me since I started this job last Thursday.
The job is also about 3/4 mile away from our house so it's a good distance to walk everyday. I usually walk to work in the morning, walk home for lunch and then drive back to work because it's too hot in the early evening to walk home. Even just walking back and forth once is a mile and a half. I also wear 5 lbs weights on my ankles and sometimes on my wrists when I walk to and from.
I'm so excited about this new job that I just had to share!
Another perk is, I've noticed men cranking their heads to turn and look at me when I'm walking! THAT'S A FIRST! LOL!
Thanks again to ALL OF YOU for all the support you have given me during this journey! It's only truly just begun!
WE'RE AN AWESOME TEAM!!
Love you all bunches!!
