Topic: Weigh in for Monday June 16.
I am starting the weigh in today because every second week I weigh myself on Sunday. I have been using the scale at work as my constant scale.
Highest weight: 310 lbs
Surgery weight: 290 lbs
Todays weight: 165.4 lbs
Total loss: 144.6 lbs
Loss this week: 1.1 lbs
Everyone must be starting to get close to goal weight. Exciting isn't it! Have a wonderful week everyone.

Hi Tia, I do talk to some people at another site and some of them are under weight and have to try to put on weight. Do you have problems with dumping or anything or should you maybe just relax a little to slow down the loss? I am still about 15 lbs from my goal weight and I continue to lose slowly. It always amazes me when I continue to lose weight even on weeks that I have been not so faithful to my healthy eating. I guess it's because it's pretty hard...no impossible... to eat like I did before surgery. Many people eventually put on weight again though so I think it's best to try to always watch what I eat and jump on the wagon again right after I fall off instead of staying off. I think you're picture looks great. How old is your son? It's so nice that he is enjoying the new you. It can be hard to be a single mom at times though can't it. I had one boy and two girls they are all living on their own now. I'm glad you checked in. I love to hear from the August Losers. Don't forget to check in for the weigh in Monday. Fran

Hi Kathleen, No rest for me this weekend. I just got home from work. Really wanted to stop for fast food on the way home (that was my downfall pre surgery). I didn't stop....Yippee! I'm going to broil some fish and have some asparagus. What play is your daughter in? Should be fun. I'm going to start the weigh in for Monday tonight cause when I work I weigh myself on Sunday. Talk to you soon. Fran
Topic: omg!
So it has been a while since I posted anything on this board. It's not that I am slacking or screwing up. As a matter of fact I think maybe I am doing to good. I haven't been posting because I work six days a week and I am a single mom. I love spending time with my little boy so I focus all my energy on that and less toward the computer. Even more so now that I have the energy to get up from the computer or tv and take him to the park or the zoo or out for a bike ride or walk. He has been a lot happier too. I can tell the difference in his attitude since I have lost the weight and have become more active. He radiates joy now and I cant give that up. So I am staying faithful to my surgery (minus the occasional cookie I split with my baby boy). I miss being on here and sharing things with all of you and I will try to check in more often. My only concern as of right now is that this week I lost 3 lbs and am down to 125 lbs. Doesn't sound like a bad deal to most of you except that the drop put me 2lbs below my goal weight and I feel as though i am looking a little sickly in my face and legs. (all the extra skin I have on my tummy actually keeps me looking filled in and healthy lol) Anyway, I can see every bone in my knees and when I lay on my side all I see is where my femur and my hip bone meet. I never thought I would say this but I am grateful for the extra skin I have in my hips to cover some of that up when I stand. I dont have any extra in my legs though so my friends are constantly making comments. People are also asking if my surgery has given me an eating disorder because I look too thin in the face.
Ugh! Enough complaining. I actually just wanted to say high to everyone and apologize for not being here.
Thanks for listening though!

Hi Fran, and Happy Friday to you. I do not go to any other sites. Never thought to look for them, but I will check em out since you mentioned it. I check in daily here because it helps me to stay motivated, and on track. I hope you get some rest this weekend, and I hope our friend Brenda does too. I have ballet, and softball practices to deal with, and my daughter just made the community theatre play for the summer too. LOL MOM the personal driver. It is good though...gives us something to do until my hubby comes to see us. Take it easy, and much love!
Topic: just wondering...
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone also goes to a lot of other WLS sites. I go to an MSN support group site and I am a member at LAWLS. I sometimes go to the main forum here too. I find I read more than I post at these sites but I do find the information useful. I feel more of a connection to our August group because it seems like we are so much alike and we are all at the same stage. I feel like I need to check in every couple of days just to stay on track. Anyone else feel like this too?

Topic: RE: Recipe 2--Chicken Dijon
This one sounds really good too Brenda. I haven't really been eating chicken much since about the first month after surgery. Maybe it's time to try it again.

I am definitely going to try this soon! Sounds good. I am stuck again, weight does not want to move. Maybe I need to eat more? Who knows...lol...you take good care my beautiful friends. You are both a blessing (Fran and Bren) and my day would not be the same without chatting with you two! My daughter moved back in with her baby, so that is good news. So far so good. I think if I just shut my mouth it is alot more effective than speaking lol. LOVE U and remember, YOU ARE AWESOME!
Topic: Recipe 2--Chicken Dijon
Chicken Dijon
Ingredients
· 6 skinless chicken breasts
· Salt and freshly ground pepper
· 1/4 cup Dijon
· 1/3 cup plain yogurt
· 1/2 cup fine fresh bread crumbs
· 1 tsp thyme
Instructions
1. Sprinkle chicken lightly with salt and pepper. Mix mustard into yogurt. In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs, thyme, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper.
2. Spread each piece of chicken with mustard mixture, and then roll in breadcrumb mixture. Place chicken in single layer on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake in 350-F degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes for bone-in chicken, 30 to 35 minutes for boneless, or until golden brown and meat is no longer pink.
This recipe is easy AND to die for! We've had this one several times.
Enjoy!
Happy Thursday!
Brenda
