Topic: Weigh in for August 18.
Things are getting really quiet on this board. Don't forget this is our weekly accountability session!
I'm holding steady again this week....actually down 2 lbs from last week but I've been up and down these two lbs for the last several weeks. My only consolation is that this week the down weight was on the scale that tends to weigh a little heavy. I have been doing generally well but it seems like at least once every day I eat something that I wish I didn't. I have to get back to having a little more self control. I feel like I am missing my old comfort foods....the head hunger drives me crazy sometimes.
I hope everyone is doing well and have a great week.

Kathleen, Congratulations on your surgiversary! You are doing so great and now you can finally celebrate with your husband! Good luck with your TT. Let us know how everything is going. You'll probably be too busy for the next few days to spend much time here. Fran

Oh my goodness!! You've waited for this day for soooooo long!! God be with you and keep you safe in your journey to and from the airport.....AND ALWAYS!! I can't wait to hear how your reunion is and how wonderful your husband tells you you look!
Kathleen you are such a wonderful woman and your heart has spread among all of us WLS women and touched us all. Thank you for that!
I can't WAIT to hear how your TT goes and see pictures of you when you're on your feet and feeling good enough for pictures. I'm praying for you, my dear friend! I know there will be moments when you wonder what you did to your body....just hang on and you'll be past those moments in no time.
God bless you!! I love you!

Thanks my friend! Had a flat tire last night, another one super low (think I hit some nails somewhere) so I am off to get the tires repaired so I can drive the hour and a half to go pick him up at the airport. But, GOD willing, we will get there lol! Have a wonderful day my friend!

Kathleen,
You are so gracious. Thank you for the kind words! YOU are one of my miracles!!
I do believe that having my stoma stretched did lead to my not losing weight as fast - however, I had to have it done as I was vomiting continuously before that. When you consider I lost almost 80 lbs in 11 weeks, that is scary - and wasn't healthy. So, it's a conundrum for me anyway.
I haven't forgotten you, or your TT date. I continue to send best wishes for your fast recovery and excellent results!!!!!
Thanks again so very much!
Tara
Topic: Husband here tomorrow!!!
Hi everyone! I am so excited. My hubby will be here tomorrow night. Today we are going to see Sesame Street Live, so that should keep the lil people very busy. They are super excited too. I got my hair cut and colored. I even got my eyebrows done...hehe. Now I just have to keep my hair decent until tomorrow...and trust me, for me that is not easy! Looking forward to my TT Aug. 26. The Dr. is dialating my stoma that week too, so I can eat meat and solids easier. I just hope that does not mean I will be able to eat the kitchen sink lol. I miss you all posting more...I know you are busy ladies. Have a wonderful weekend, and I send big hugs to my favorite friends!!!

I think you have been VERY successful Tara! You are beautiful and an inspiration to me! Congrats on your Surgiversary!!! Like you said, this surgery is JUST A TOOL and we still have to control what we put into our mouths. And we still have to control what in our minds made us overeat in the first place. THAT is where I struggle the most. I still want to eat when I am stressed, worried, etc. That is something I guess I am just going to have to continue to learn to deal with forever. I am having my stoma dialated the week of the 25th as well after my TT. I am concerned that it will allow me to overeat more, but my Dr. says it just stretches the opening to the pouch, not the pouch itself. I cannot really swallow meat or very solid things too well. He says this will help. I just do not want it to help toooo much lol. Do not beat yourself up. Look at how far you have come in one short year. When u truely sit back and reflect, it is amazing, at least for me. You take good care of yourself. I send big hugs your way!!!

My Surgery Anniversary was yesterday.
I feel I have NOT accomplished what I thought I would, due to my own failures and having a stricture fixed early on.( Start weight of 230, weight today between 158 and 165) I stopped losing weight right after that was done. The surgery is a wonderful TOOL, but anyone who thinks it is anything but that, is fooling themselves. It is hard work, needs life changes to make it work, and is NOT a miracle in itself - the changes we implement to make it work are truly the miracle. It was NOT easy, and is not fail safe. I feel stupid and naive to have believed it would solve everything, and I would lose more than I actually "worked" for.
I have "met" some wonderful people that have been one of the surprise side gifts of having this surgery. The regular posters here, "egg face" a blogger who is one of the OH staffers here, and many more who are so supportive. They have been so wonderful to/for me. I owe them a lot of my success. (Thank you!!)
Thanks for sharing and allowing me to share!!!
