It happens to the best of us. I was at a stall on day 8 and it lasted 5 day. My doctor said it is normal because your body is in shock right now and trying to hold onto anything it can. All I eat is protein, no carbs and my stall stopped after five day and I've lost 7lbs since. Total of 26 since surgery 8/28. Be patient, it will come off. I know its better said than done, but stop weighing everyday, it will drive you insane. Good Luck Luchianna

I had RNY two weeks ago tomorrow (9-4). As of last Thursday, I had lost 22 pounds. I haven't lost anything since. i thought it was just me. I've been trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I didn't walk for a few days, but the past 3 days I've walked at least 2 miles a day. I even went back on just liquids thinking maybe that would help. I was so discouraged yesterday when I got on the scale, that I didn't even get on today. I did walk though, so it better change tomorrow (ha ha) I know they told me that when I hit a plateau to up my protein, up my water and/or change something in my exercise routine. Unfortunately, I'm not getting in all 64oz of water and need to really work on that. I hope it at least helps to know you're not alone. I know just reading your post and the other replies helped me know it's not just me! good luck, sweetie! ~ Tara

I'm so glad it's not just me. I'm ready to take my scale and throw it out the window. I had RNY on 8/27. I am down only 16 lbs and my scale hasn't budged in days. I'm following the rules to a tee. I get in all my water, my 2 shakes and I measure my food carefully. I walk almost everyday. What's going on???? Is this normal? I expected to lose at least 25-30 lbs. the first month...It doesn't look like that's going to happen. I am so disappointed.

Topic: INSURANCE HELP
Hi everyone, I wanted to see has anyone out there had any success in having United Heathcare cover the Vertical Sleeve? There telling me that my policy covers weight loss surgery without any exclusions. But, my doctors office is saying that the Vertical Sleeve isn't covered by any insurance company because how new the procedure is.

I just wanted to tell you, I am in the same boat as you or maybe even worse off. I have only lost 18.5 lbs since surgery Aug 14 and its very frustrating. I eat less than 1000 calories, I exercise as well and I dont get it. But I hear its normal from many WLS Graduates so I am trying to keep my hopes up. I only lost 1/2 lb the last 6 days (may have been due to my period but still, its over now and I want the scale to move!) Maya

Hi Jen, For the "other problem" you are having, I had the same thing and in addition to fiber, I did something my NUT told me to and its working great. Every afternoon/evening, I have 2 big mugs of hot decaf tea. I drink Decaf Green and its worked like a charm. I also try and eat some fruit right after dinner. I found papaya to be soft and easy and very good for digestion. Since I started doing that, my issue has disappeared. Maya

It has been 17 days since my surgery. I have lost a total of 20 lbs. I have been the same for the last 3-4 days. I have been walking 10K steps, drinking water and 1-2 protein shakes per day. I am getting very frustrated! Anyone else out there stalled or has stalled and could give me words of encouragment?

My one month out was last Friday. I lost 20lbs before and exactly 20 lbs after. I wi**** was more like most of us, but I know there is more I could be doing to help that out. I do not get in as much exercise and I wi**** will help dramatically once we get out of this 100+ degree tempeture we have had here in Arizona for the past 4 months. It is getting old. Even my poor dogs look at me as we are walking going, can we go home yet? LOL. Was looking at a picture of me at my high, and I'm laughing that no one asked if I was pregnant. Too funny. Love to keep hearing from each of you as you hit your one month out. Here's to all of our continued success.
