Well, looks like we are definitely not the only ones! Maybe you are eating too fast or too much? I find that I have to eat very, very slow or else it is coming back up. It takes me the whole day to take my meds which consist of 10 pills.....Even though the going is rough, I am still glad I had the surgery-I haven't been at the weight I am now in over 20 years and I still have a LONG way to go! All we can do is plug along......

Hi Tara! I'm glad I could shed some light on what's happening to you! I will be talking to my doctor again today or tomorrow. I know she said it could take a couple of weeks before I noticed the Prilosec helping, but I can't take this for another week (saw her a week ago today). It's been 5 weeks of this misery and I can't do it anymore. I'm talking to her and getting an appointment set up to have my esophagus dilated. When they can do that, why do they make us wait and try meds? *shakes head* makes noooooo sense to me to keep us in misery any longer than necessary. Tara, please keep me posted on your condition and what you find out ok? God bless you! Brenda

Topic: RE: How much is everyone eating?
Thanks. I hope I am not overdoing it. This is turning into a full time job and my real job is suffering. I am usually so motivated and on top of things and lately, I just could care less about work, its scary! But yeah, getting protein and water is soooo hard! Maya

I am so grateful for this post. I truly feel your emotion and panic. I am losing so slow and this week I only lost 1.5 lbs. In normal life, I would have been grateful for any loss. But after this surgery, I just expected more and its so hard not to compare yourself to others who are way up there in the loss. I am almost (note: almost) disappointed I don't dump. And I also feel hungry alot. Its just a harder journey than I expected so early on. Hopefully this time next year, we will all be down atleast 100 lbs and can laugh at how we worried! Maya

Topic: RE: IS EVERYONE GETTING THEIR PROTEIN IN EVERY DAY?!!
I am having a hard time too Tara but what is finally working for me are 2 things. I bought unflavored Unjury and am putting it in iced coffee. There is no flavor what so ever and I can do it just fine. Am drinking one right now. ASLO.... and I love this one. I bought Matrix Orange Cream protein powder from BariatricEating.com I mix it with Tropicana Sugar Free Orange Ade and it tastes just like an Orange Julius! YUMM! If you have not tried Unjury it's great! You can also add it to chicken broth. One scoop of Unjury is 20 grams of protein and one scoop of the Matrix is 23. Matrix has several other flavors too. Another thing that was pretty good too was the Carnation Instant Breakfast drink. Make sure you get the NO SUGAR ADDED one.. in the blue box. If you use fat free, lactose free milk you don't add a lot of carbs and it's great protein! I like the chocolate best but there is a variety pack if you wanted to try the strawberry or vanilla. I know that getting our protein in is very hard and we have to try to find one we can stand the taste of. If we don't we will lose our hair, our complexion will become gray and we will burn muscle instead of fat. It's not good at all for our heart either because our heart is a muscle. We also won't lose weight as fast or as efficiently because our bodies will not be able to metabolize the fat burning process as well. We will also feel run down and feel depressed. I hope you're able to find SOMETHING that will help you get your protein in Tara.

I am so sorry you feel this way too, it is miserable, especially since everyone seems to do fine, you feel like the only one. I am still spewing eats most days too, hardly ever get protein in and have extreme trouble even drinking water. Pills....don't get me started. My Dr told me reluctantly to break them in half and swallow them, which works for me sometimes. I feel like such a failure. I have tried so many shake ideas and I just cannot handle them. I can eat soft foods and sometimes do ok with them. So sorry to be such a downer, but I just wanted you to know that you aren't alone out there. I wish you good luck and better days ahead!!!!
