I have heard that if we dont' eat enough of calories and protein our weight will be slow coming off, something about our systems goes into starvation mode? And it holds on to our fat. That is just what Ive heard. Mine doesnt seem to be coming off very fast but Im not worrying yet, Im keeping a close eye on it. Wish I could help more. Donna Ft. Stewart GA

It does seem that there is not a whole lot of posting going on around here. Hopefully that will change. I'm struggling a bit with getting in enough food. My weight loss has been slower than I anticipated and I'm starting to wonder if I'm not getting in enough calories. I go to my doctor on Tuesday and I have lots of questions for the nutrionist. About how many calories/protein are you getting in? I do okay with my liquids because it's easier. I am NEVER without a water bottle. I feel like I'm going to get a strange reputation around town (lol). Also, I'm having a rough time with my multivitamin. I've been taking Centrum Chewables, but I cannot gag those things down. I find I've been skipping them more and more (I know, very bad!) Any suggestions for something less chalky and disgusting?

Please all women need calcium and B12 supplements, I take a B12 shot once a month but going to start taking 1 twice a month...If you start feeling horrible it may be due to low B12 which in turn can cause low iron and eventually become anemic. Women need calcium to prevent osteoporosis when we are older. Don't just rely on a multi it is Not enough, I have talked to a lot of post op persons years out and they highly recommend this regimen along w/ my surgeon and PCP, I also take Iron supplements mine got really LOW and I felt horrible, this was only 4 weeks post op, so now I take Iron supplements prescribed by my PCP, other post ops recommend iron supplements, iron and B12 go hand in hand one Low can cause the other to bottom...Just my opinion don't want anyone starting to feel Horrible....

As far as food I do well on beef--had(Ribeye) steak three times I tenerized and marinated it for a while and it was great was very delicious and did not make me sick, ground round w/ taco seas, or made w/soups, crustless pizza, etc. I like the Dannon light n fit low carb/sugar smoothies 6 grms protein. Omeletts are good, Bushs chili w/ cheese is my fav. What is everyone else eating?

It really depends on your weight/BMI....You really have to take that into consideration when your comparing yourself to others...my BMI was 50 and as of Oct.1 I have lost 40 pounds. I don't track my calories although I know they are low.

How many calories are you all getting?? I think i might be eating too much. My weight loss is comparable to those who posted in the Oct 1 weigh in .. but i feel likes its coming off really slow. 35lbs in 7 weeks. OK now that i've typed it up .. it doesn't seem so slow. But i still want to know if im eatting too much. I tracked my eating on fitday and for a couple of days and the average is 800 calories a day. One day i did go up to 1,100 calories ..should i try not to eat that much? Isn't 800 calories too few especially after exercise?

I had one of those days on Wednesday. I had a bite of scrambled eggs for breakfast and i did everything i could to keep it down. It felt horrible. Then i had a lunch and i was fine .. don't remember what i ate. Then dinner i just had a bite of chicken and fought to keep that down too. This had never happened to me before and i hope it doesn't happen again. I still have no idea why that even happened. I tried to think of something i had done to cause it but I don't think i did anything differently that would cause it.. anyway .. IDK.

Is it me, or are we the quietest room in this place? Either we are too busy enjoying our new skinnier lives or we are just a bunch of "watchers". We all know we are doing well losing weight. Maybe there are other questions some of you might have on food? What people are eating? Protien people are taking? or some other item of interest? Anyone????
