I have a real tough time with water. Since surgery I can only have it super cold and even still it makes my tummy hurt. I mostly drink decaf iced tea and crystal light or SF tropican orange ade.

Regarding the vitamins, I heard someone say they bought a pill cutter and cut up their chewables so they could swallow them. You might want to try that. I take the Flinstones and I haven't had any problems. I've already started taking other pills like the Citrical petites because the liquid calcium I bought wasn't so good. As for what I've been eating...there isn't much my pouch doesn't like. I have a protein shake for breakfast or cottage cheese. I have lots of tuna salad. I've made fajitas with the low carb tortillas with steak, onions, cheese, and tomatoes...yum! I have lots of soup...that's always been a favorite for me. Last night it was hot and sour soup. I have sushi without the rice. I've had a super thin crust piece of cheese pizza. Couldn't even finish all of it and it was tiny! But, so good! Salad hasn't been a problem, although I just started that last week and a little goes a long way. I made a salad a the salad bar and normally it would be around $8, now it's about $2.50, nice huh?

Topic: OK...My turn
I guess it's my turn to introduce myself. I just discovered this forum this morning and I'm thrilled at the idea of having you guys to turn to when things seem out of whack...like this terrible stall I'm experiencing. Anyway...I'm a 31yo single gal living in the bay area of Ca, although I'll be 32 in 12days...yuk. I started this journey/rebirth at 201lbs. To date I've lost 26lbs. My doctor's goal is 130, but I think I'd like to try for 125. I'm excited that I've dropped a size, especially since winter is coming and most of my winter clothes wouldn't have fit me if I hadn't had surgery. OK, well I just wanted to say hi.

Hi Guys...I'm new to this forum. I just noticed that someone wrote about it on the main forum, so I thought I'd check it out. It's nice to have a group of us that had surgery around the same time. But I've got to say now I realize just how slow I'm losing! Regarding the calories, I get on average 800. Some days it's as low as 600 and other days as much as 1100. To date I've lost 26lbs, which compared to you all isn't much, but I'll take it. My BMI is down to 33 so I'm happy with that.

Water is easy sometimes and hard sometimes. When it doesn't agree with me plain I usually add some lime or lemon slices and it seems to make it more tolerable, I think because of the acid but maybe just because of the flavor. Maybe that would help you.

It varies for me - at first the only real food I could eat was avocado. Now I am eating more and not nauseas as often, but when I am in losing mode (as opposed to stalling which I had been for the last 3 weeks) and making more ketones I am nauseas more often. I am back to losing and few foods are appetizing once again.

I tried steak from Logan's steakhouse this week- a filet mignon because its the most tender, and I had them butterfly it and cook it to medium. It was fork tender and I stretched it over three meals but it settled fine. I only eat meat that is fork tender, but the only thing I have problems with for meat is cold cuts. I struggled a lot at first to get enough food and then I learned my pouch prefers small meals more often and if I miss a meal its uncooperative for the rest of the day so I have to stick with liquids. I drink a lot of soy and milk, eat a lot of chicken, salsa, avocado, and whole grain crackers with fat free cream cheese. I also eat Kashi go lean and string cheese. I am dying for a salad. That pretty much covers my regular food. We go out to dinner once a week and I order grilled meat and cooked veggies. Centrums chewables ARE nasty - I'm trying to finish my bottle too. I suck on them for a while before I chew them up and then I break them up with my front teeth because i can't stand them getting crushed up in the back teeth where the taste sticks around and you have to pick the powder out. Do you know what I mean? Don't skip your vitamins! If you have to, do flintstones until you can take pills. I am taking small pills now but scared to try something as large as a vitamin - maybe if I cut it up into 3 pieces.

I average 900 calories/day before exercise - it ranges between 700-1000 depending on the day. Some days I force myself to eat and other days I am ravenously hungry. My doc said aim for 800ish but it depends on your BMI a little bit. Also if you workout a lot you may need to up your calories a little bit in order to lose weight.

Topic: Hello
I am new to the august board, so I just wanted to introduce myself. I am 29 grad student from TX - weighed 440 at the start of this process (ugh) and lost 37 lbs pre-op. I'm down to 367 and tomorrow is my 2 month anniversary. I lost 33 the first month... and hardly anything since. I stalled for almost the entire second month and have only started losing again this past week (3lbs). The stall is very frustrating but I lost a lot that first month and had 2 surgeries (complications) so I think my body just said "whoa nelly" and refused to cooperate until it got some rest and healed. I wasn't able to start exercising regularly until recently - and the second surgery took a lot out of me in every way. Mentally and physically exhausted. Its been 6.5 weeks since and I am just now feeling like I have some energy. I HOPE the weight loss gets going again with a vengeance, but I'm happy as long as I keep losing, even if its at a snail's pace. I look forward to seeing our progress over the months ahead!
