Topic: RE: Eating Out
Hi Ruth,
I'm going out to dinner tomorrow night and am NOT looking forward to it. I'll probably get fish. But everyone else will be eating and drinking. And we can't drink a 1/2 hour before or after eating. This is NOT going to be fun. LOL

Topic: Eating Out
Has anyone attempted eating out yet? If so where did you do and what did you get? Last night I went to Capt. D's and had some shrimp. I got full on 4 of them. I mean before the surgery that would have a teaser. My husband felt bad because he was still eating and I was full. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Topic: RE: Found out what problem is
I thought I'd update those of you who have followed this thread. I did great with the first procedure I had done for about five or six days. Then the problem started again. Long story short, I ended up having the procedure done again on October 9th. This time my surgeon used the largest balloon to dilate my esophagus. My esophagus was restricted in one area so much that the opening was only the size of a pencil eraser! No wonder food and liquids wouldn't go down!! And that was AFTER the first procedure! After the second procedure my esophagus is now dilated to just under the size of a dime. MUCH BETTER!!! I'm having no problems now. God is great!!
God bless you!

Topic: RE: meat
I've discovered a way to reheat some meats without them becoming too dry. This works with steak, pork chops, roast (beef or pork), ribs, chicken and fish. I've never had it fail me. I wrap the meat being reheated in wet paper towel and heat in the microwave for however long it takes to heat it to a comfortable heat level. It steams the heat into the meat, adding moisture as it heats. Works very nicely! Good luck!

Topic: RE: meat
Hi,
I seem to be very lucky with my food tolerance. I can eat steak, ground beef, turkey, chicken, and seafood with no problem. I've never thrown anything up or had anything stuck. I do cut my meat into tiny pieces and chew a lot however.

Topic: RE: migraines anyone?
Actually, I've had the opposite. Since my surgery I haven't had a headache. I use to have headaches daily and at least 1-2 migranes a week. Now, none.
Sorry to hear about yours

Topic: RE: Do you dump?
I admit that I must be one of the luckiest guys (well really only guy) on here. I have only gotten sick 3 time and all 3 times it was my fault for eating too much. I seem to be able to eat anything as long as I can grind or chew it well. I do not eat sweet stuff often but when I do I seem to have no problems with that either. I do eat an active culture yogurt every few days. No dumping that I can tell.

Topic: migraines anyone?
two days after surgery i had an episode of not being able to speak, or see out of my right eye. it lasted for about 25 min. then i had a headache. last week, i had the same thing. the neurologist said they were migraines and he has seen them start in people who have had gastric bypass (rny) anybody? any thoughts? my surgeon knows about this.

Jennifer,
Trust me your not the only one that is sensitive to sugar. I have dumping and its when you eat or drink something that don't agree with you and comes up. If you eat to fast or to much you some time you have to dump to feel better. I learn the hard way about French onion soup, i made a big pot of it and was sick as a dog! Good luck Julie
