anyone hear about TRICARE denying skin removal surgeries starting about two weeks ago?

Hey...just have a question for you TRICARE INSURANCE folks out there. I have been told TRICARE is starting to deny most claims for skin removal surgeries after gastric bypass. Is anyone aware of this or experiencing problems? I have terrible rashes and irritation and odor because of my skin, and am praying this is not true. Just wanted to see if anyone out there knew anything. THANKS!!

Hi Kathleen, I don't really know anything about insurance coverage in the US but I have heard that you need to document the problems you have. Take pictures and keep track of the number of infections. Ask your doctor to send letters etc. Hope everything goes ok. Fran

I have it and they quit doing the pantyline tuck for free which is what they originally did. Now they just give a 1300 dollar voucher to go towards the skin removal. Its very odd. They are tightening their belts on a lot of things though! doesnt matter for me though I lose my insurance in a couple of months.
