6 Month Surgerverseries - Updates Wanted
Well, tomorrow is my six monthiversary! My surgery was on August 2nd, 2007. I've had lots of setbacks and situations that have not been pleasant. Would I do it all over again for the loss I've had and the improvement in health I've had? YOU BET I WOULD!! I have had many "WOW" moments-- too many to tell all. All I can say is, I've begun a new life, a new look, and a new me has emerged with excitement for life!! I've lost 90+ pounds and still losing. I won't give up until I reach my goal weight. I'm still making up my mind exactly what that weight will be. My ideal weight according to doctors and charts, etc is 130. I want to be 120, at least for awhile. I've always said, "for just ONE DAY I'd like to be too skinny!" Well, it all depends on how I look and feel as I near that 130 lb mark. If I look emaciated I won't lose further. I didn't have surgery to make myself look sickly. I want health. The wonderful way we look after all is said and done is only an added bonus in my opinion. But mannnnn does it feel good to look good again! LOL!
God bless you ALL for your efforts and for the support of each other!

Today is my surgerversary. I am down 80 pounds. I have had some wow moments. My ex husband was shocked when he saw me at Christmas. I wa**** on at the grocery store. But I am still waiting for the BIG WOW. I dont' know what it will be but I will know it when it happens.
This has all been such an emotional roller coaster. I have lost friends because I am losing weight and that has been hard. These were life long friends or what I thought were friends. I have felt like I have to keep my weight loss to myself. I don't talk about it. I've been called many things since I have started this journey and it's made it real hard.
The best thing about this decision is that I am now healthy. I am no longer taking any meds for diabetes, high cholesteral or high blood pressure. That is the reason I had this surgery and I have to keep reminding myself of that. It wasn't to be thin. That is just an added bonus. I still have 20 pounds to go to get to goal and then will try for another 10 pounds just to have a buffer if I gain. I just want to feel normal.
Hello everyone! I had my six month check-up today. Everything looks good and my nutritionist is very pleased with my results and health status. I don't have to go back again for six months! She took my picture today and we compared it with my "before" picture. OMG what a difference!! I almost don't recognize myself in that dreadful "before" picture!
All is good six months out!
I hope all of your six monthiversaries are as wonderful as mine has been!!
Also, today is my husband's EIGHT monthiversary for quitting smoking! WOOOOOHOOOOO!!! WAY TO GO, HONEY!!
My TEN monthiversary for quitting smoking is the day after tomorrow. Almost a year under my belt!! Don't miss it a bit!!
Have a blessed day, gang!

Hi there. My 6 month surgeversery was on 2/13. I had the lap band surgery and am down 65 lbs. Monday night, to celebrate the new me, I got a drastic new haircut with a new color. Now people notice! I have had many wow moments and NSV's but the main accomplishment, the reason I pursued this surgery was to improve my health. My BP, sugar and cholestrol are all normal! The rest is icing on the cake.
Congratulations to all the August Folks!
