Poem that used to fit us....not now!
Hello everyone! I came across this poem while cleaning out some of my mom's drawers. She is an awesome lady and used to keep anything she thought was cute or funny. I'm not sure if this qualifies as cute or funny, but I think most, if not all, of us can certainly relate to its message.
Strict is my diet; I must not want.
It maketh me to lie down at night hungry.
It leadeth me past the confectioners;
It trieth my willpower;
It leadeth me in the paths of starvation
For my figure's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the aisles of
The pastry department,
I will buy no sweet rolls, for they are fattening;
The cakes and the pies they tempt me,
Before me is a table set with green beans
And lettuce.
I filleth my stomach with liquids;
My day's quota runneth over.
Surely calories and weight charts will
Follow me
All the days of my life,
And I shall dwell in the fear of scales forever.
NOT ANYMOREEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Do you all realize how free from this we are? Because, although we have to watch what we eat, and be smart, we have begun a new lifestyle and never have to FEAR a diet any longer! All we have to do is decide to make this about our lifestyle and about our health. I will no longer EVER fear scales again!!
WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!
God bless you all!!
