A Hello, Hair Loss, & Clothing....
Hi...I haven't posted on here much, but I should since we all had surgery the same month. It'd be smart to post with people who started life anew at the same time I did.
So...is everybody else losing hair like they'll be bald tomorrow? I can't believe how much hair is coming out of my head. OMG it's just insane. Handfuls during the washing, another couple handfuls while combing and styling, and hair just getting all over the place as I go about my day. I'm so freakin' surprised I don't have bald spots. I've been losing hair since the end of October and the longer time goes, the more that's coming out. I hope this stops soon!!! I just thank my lucky stars that my hair was thick to begin...I'd be bald otherwise. Those who say "it'll come out no matter how careful one is with protein and vitamins" is right. I'm very careful and it's happening anyway. EEEK!!
I'm 74 pounds lighter than I was on my surgery date, and oddly, I'm still in the same size clothing. My clothing is loser and all, but I can't go down a size yet, too tight, and I hate that, so no new clothing yet. Isn't this weird to lose this much and not change sizes?? I keep wondering "how tight were these pants in August if I can still wear them now?!?" I must have looked like a sausage, LOL.
How many calories are you all eating right now? I suppose I should start counting my calories, I haven't up til now, so I have no idea what I've been at. What should I be shooting for? I don't see my NUT til the 17th of this month. I'll ask her too...but just to have a comparison, y'know?
Boy, can I ever relate to the hair loss!!! It is crazy. I do notice that it is starting to grow back but it will be a long process as the shedding continues...
As for clothing size, I am very surprised that you have not changed clothing size when you have lost an incredible 74 pounds!! I have lost 70 lbs since the pre-op and have gone from a size 24 to a size 16/18 so far. My pants are now size 14's! What does your doctor say? Are you exercising? I work out about 7 to 10 times a week which has made a huge difference in how I feel and how I look, I think. Good luck with this!

Hello...you're a week after me! Ive lost about the same (75#) and am at 900 to 1200 cals a day! I was suuuuper paranoid about my hair and started biotin about a month before my surgery and have been so so consistent with that and getting AT LEAST 100g a day of protein...I have not only had no hair loss....but actually have fuzzy new growth that I have to lock into my hair now...so its actually THICKER!!! I count my blessings for that...but my NUT warned us that although it may seem bad if we do lose hair, by the time we notice it, it's already beginning to grow back...so hopefully you won't have a whole lot more loss...
try counting cals on fitday.com...its really easy and worth it when you need to account for every meal....good luck to you!

100 g of protein a day? HOW?!?!?!? HOW, How, HOW!??
I must know! I think I'm doing good to get around 30g!
I've noticed my hair loss seems to have slowed down. (knock on wood) I had very thick hair but I'd say I've lost easily half my hair. Two weeks ago it was so horrible I nearly broke down, but now it's less.
Thank God!
Clothes are weird. I think my butt and thighs are in a ladies size 16 but my stomach still demands a women's size 20.
Pants are vastly different than the last time I wore normal sizes. The styles ride a lot lower on the hip and the zippers are like an inch long.
Anything that fits my hips, butt and thighs gives me a major muffin top. Anything that fits my waist makes me look like my bottom half is under a collapsed circus tent. I'm guessing a tummy tuck is not going to be optional and I'm sure my insurance won't pay for it.
I have no idea about calories. I drink a protein shake for breakfast and just try to get as much protein as I can at the other two meals. I haven't touched sugar or fried food but I think I'm getting too much fat and when I start eating more I'll have to watch that more.
My cholesterol has dropped 100 points. It was high when I was only 20 years old and barely over weight and now it's 154. I'm so excited about that.
I just wish I weight that!

It's an acquired taste...they're strong...so some days I need to water it down...but hey, the more fluids the merrier...lol

Hi Becca!
Where on the internet might I find the RTD juice and the Stacker protein water? I live in a small Wyoming town and we don't have much available to buy here so I have to get my protein drinks from my Weight Management Clinic in Montana or buy them off the internet. The ones I've purchased off the internet have all been trial and error with more error in the end LOL. I would like to try the ones you've mentioned. Any help in finding them would be great, tytyty!
