Hair Loss
Just checking to see if the hair loss has begun for you guys. In the last couple of weeks I've noticed it falling out more in the shower. It's not massive amounts, but enough to catch my attention. Now, I'm super focused on getting all my protein in. I just hopes it doesn't get much worse than this, or I'll end up bald!!
I Have been losing hair since right before Thanksgiving. Not handfuls, but enough to freak me out! Everytime I wash my hair, strands are left in my hands. I'm worried that Im not getting enough protein, trying to be more careful. This time of year sucks with all the sweets availalbe, I'm having a hard time resisting.

I already have fairly thin hair, fine and really light colored! So in the front it already looks thing where I part it. And now that I have lost some it actually doesn't look worse there~but the rest of it is getting bad. I need to do something with my hair to give it some body. It is stick straight and long~ so something must be done!! I know everytime I pull hair out of my comb/brush I worry that I am going to be bald. I just hope it gets better soon!! Kristi
Since reading here about some of you who had surgery ahead of me, I have been on the lookout for hair loss. So far, so good. It happens to just about everyone, no matter how much protein, or whether they take Biotin or whatever. Some escape it, but I don't think we know why. I just hope it isn't too much.
I can absolutely tell when I wash and brush my hair that alot more is coming out. Actually, this has gotten worse within the last week. My surgeon ( Dr. Lord ) said it usually starts at 3 months post-op. I went to my dermatologist last week and he upped my Biotin to 4000 mg a day. He had me on 2000 a day aleady. Biotin is great for helping with hair loss. Another thing he said to do is not to worry about it. Well... that's easy for him to say. The bad thing about me is I started out with thin baby fine hair and I don't have any to spare!! I do get all my protein so all I can do is hang in there. I did go out and buy the cutest wig so when it gets really bad I can wear it. I have worn it a couple of times out shopping and it's funny... people say how cute of a haircut I have and it's not my hair. That may be an option for you if it gets really bad. Just remember its grows back!! Hope this helps some. By the way, I love your doggy avatar. It's too cute!!

I noticed as I was combing my hair out this AM that there were much more strands in the comb than has been.....UGHHH...I fear it is starting... a few years ago my mom went on Weigh****chers and Lost 70 pounds fairly quick, she lost a large amount of hair and it looked very brittle, I then remember telling her to "up" her protein, she was mainly eating fruits & veggies, I have read a lot of OH members say they got in all they're protein & vitamins and that did not help, I think No matter what we're going to lose it because of the trauma of surgery and Rapid weight loss...
