Question about Calories?
Ok so I thought I was in the normal area of 400-600 calories but I have been reading and is that low? Or is that about right, on most days that is what I end up with, also have an average of under 30 carbs and over 60g of Protein and way less than 25g of Fat. SO does that sound about right or am I totally off?!
I had surgery on 8-23 so I am 1 week from 3 months. And currently have been stalled at the same weight for about 2 weeks (maybe a bit more)
Ok thanks for any and all help! Kristi
I probably get in around 400-600 cals. I had my surgery on the 21st of aug. When i hit a stall i will increase the intake for a day or two (even just a little bit) and it seems to help me over the hump! I am down 72 lbs since surgery. How are you doing? I still cant always get my protein or fluids in but i am still trying! Good luck to you! deanna
Thanks Deanna,
Sounds like we are about at the same point. Most days I have no trouble with my fluid intake, as long as I really make it a priority! I have been hunting this week and have been kind of bad about everything, so it is time to get back on track! I lost 55lbs before surgery and I have lost 47lbs since. So I am a little bit of a slower loser but I know I am somewhere near normal. I have been about where I am now for 2 weeks but I have notice the inches going down, I am down from a size 28 pants(too tight) to a size 20 so that is fabulous to me!! I am going to try to increase my intake and see if that helps me out! I do pretty good with my protein intake too but all I really eat is meat and cheese. ANd than I drink one of those NewWhey protein Bullets, actually it is 3 oz 176 calories and 42g protein, so I drink one ounce a day and it gives me roughly 58 calories and 14g of protein. And if I haven't gotten enough in for the day I will drink more of it. The only one I can stand is the orange and they are nasty, but I put one ounce in the little cup and drink it quick like a shot! Than I quick take a drink of water to get the taste out of my mouth! LOL Well good luck to you too~ sorry so long I must be type happy today! LOL Have a happy thanksgiving too! Kristi
I work on protein first and foremost. Almost always get 60 -70 gm of that in. I try to get the liquid in and have been doing better. Don't pay a lot of attention to calories. I'm supposed to be getting 1000 to 1200 but usually am around 700.
As far as stalls. I hit one every other week and it lasts about a week.
Just follow what your nut has told you. Or as closely as you can.

I think you might be a LITTLE low on the calories - I was told around 800 from the beginning - that's about where I average - some days higher, some lower... when I stall, upping the calories a little for a day or two seems to spur the weight loss. Also, if you are exercising, I think 400-600 is really pretty low, your body might be holding on to fat for dear life because it thinks its starving.
I was kind of wondering that. I felt like I had been stalled and now the scale is moving a bit more. But I really walked a TON this week with hunting and I think I ate a bit more too. Although some days I was bad, due to the fact that I don't get hungry and I forget to eat~ Not good. But I am back to work and I am going to work on getting in some more food. I see my nurse on Friday for my 3 month check up so I will know for sure how I am doing!! I am excited for that. Thanks so much
