I'm 12 weeks out - eating basically whatever I want unless it has sugar or a lot of carbs - steak is fine if its tender, as are chicken and fish. Rotisserie chicken is really tender, you might want to try that.
I eat lots of salads and cooked veggies, some fruit (makes me dump), quite a lot of milk and cheese, and a good amount of meat and sometimes nuts and seeds . I do not drink protein shakes, but I do have an atkins advantage protein bar now and again for the fiber. I get my protein plus extra in almost every day, and stay between 600-1000 calories per day (usually 800-900) . I need to work on adding some whole grains.
As far as going out, I mostly eat thai food (tom yum soup and summer rolls) or vietnamese food (pho ga minus the noodles) or I get a piece of grilled meat with veggies or salad.
I feel like I am eating healthier than I ever have (and believe it or not, I was always a pretty healthy eater, just larger portions too frequently) and that its definitely reflecting how I feel. My only problem is still getting tired pretty easily, so I'm interested in seeing what my blood work results will say.
Pretty much anything but eggs! And I LOVED eggs before Haven't tried any beef except ground in things like chili. I made a yummy cheesy enchilada casserole last night with ground turkey (had it again this morning for breakfast!). I drink way more milk than I ever did. I do not think I'm getting in all my protein but I'm TRYING. Also, still working on getting all that fluid in. I used to love plain, cold water but I'm finding it difficult to take in a lot of it. I caved and got some Crystal Light flavors and I'm having more success using it. Does the milk count as part of the 64 ozs or does it have to be non-caloric (seems like I read that somewhere) fluid? I have oatmeal with added protein powder and walnuts most every morning for breakfast. Lotsa cheeses. Tuna salad really agrees with my new tummy.
I even ate a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup at Halloween and didn't dump.
Almost to onederland!

I am eating lots of yogurt, some meats, mostly ground beef, no steak, shrimp is fine if tender. Chicken is ok, but still makes me blow eats sometimes. I just got a stricture fixed so I am finally eating other foods than yogurt - it is sooo much better now. I can to - my great dismay - eat candy (like reeces ) pretty easliy, more than food even. Gonna have to watch that. Still sticking to mostly soft foods. I love apples though and they are ok peeled. I would love to eat salad and veggies, my appointment is on Tuesday, hope I get the ok for them then. OH, stopped drinking shakes after first few weeks out, lost tons of hair - but still trying to find one I can keep down. Thanks for your honesty, helps to know someone out there is not drinking the horrid shakes, maybe we can find one we like if we communicate about it.

Oh Joni,
I am so sorry to hear that. I know when I cut my hair off - as stupid as it sounds , it was very trumatic. (I had about 4 feet of hair). I am loosing lots of it per day and have tried every stinkin shake there is, just can NOT get them down. My brother, who had this surgery, gave me some UNJURY chicken soup mix, it has 21 grams of protein in it and that is going down really well. I am going to order more today. I fugure if I can drink one of those a day, and eat the rest I will be good to go. Honestly it tastes like lipton chicken soup broth, no nasty smell or aftertaste (other than the broth taste). I feel so badly for you, please try to keep trying, I KNOW it is hard.

I still try to have one protein shake a day. I like the Unjury Vanilla. I mix it with skim milk and sometimes add pineapple and coconut extracts (pina colada). Other times I'll mix half a banana and a teaspoon of peanut butter. Yumm. The only meat I can't eat is pork chops. Bad news. Other than that I can eat any meat. I eat raw carrots for snacks, string cheese, yogurt. Once in awhile I few tiny pretzels. I eat cooked veggies. Gee, I guess pretty much anything. The only salads I will eat are if they do not contain iceburg lettuce.
My nut said that any liquid (even counts yogurt as a liquid) counts in the 64 oz but you would need to check with your folks.
My problem is not getting enough calories in. I'm workin at it though.
I can eat pretty much anything as long as it is moist and tender.
I do try to have one Protein shake made with skim milk per day to keep my numbers up there because I can still only eat small portions. I like Matrix Cookies and Cream or Unjury Unflavoured mixed with 1/2 a banana and AF Chocolate Syrup or Davinci SF Caramel syrup.
Have to make sure I go slow and chew, chew, chew though.
I don't do any white carbs or sugar.
For me the 64 oz have to be Clear, Calorie Free and non Carbonated to count. This is one area I really struggle with most days.
