What vitamins are you taking? I was taking 2 chewable centrum daily but finished the bottle, so I started taking my old one-a-day womens (2x) but I have trouble swallowing them now for some reason, and they frequently irritate my stomach. So I went to buy more centrum (nasty) but decided to get flintstones chewable instead. Is anyone taking these, and how much? Also, if you've tried vistavitamins or any of the bariatric advantage, what do you think?

I take 3 of the chewable flinstones a day along with 3 citrical creamy bites a day. I space them out every 2 hrs.

Hi Jennifer! I was told that Flintstones aren't enough for adults, even in quantities above the dosage. I take Optisource chewables. The dosage is 1 4x a day. I take them with my meals and with one of my protein drinks. They are citrus flavored (orange to me) and are very easy to tolerate and are designed for post-op bariatric patients. You can order them online or buy them at Walgreens. Here is the link if you'd like to take a look. http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=301120&navAction=jump&navCount=0&id=prod4 03359 I swear by these vitamins and I've never had any problems taking them at all. They were recommended by my surgeon. God bless! Brenda

I'm eating these as I type. I think they are the best. I especially like that they are for bariactic folks.

I use the flinstones and I also use some prenatal vitamins I got through CVS online - they are CVS brand. I bought those because they were coated. I can't stand the taste of uncoated vitamins and coated ones are hard to find. I alternate between the flinstone's and the prenatals. I haven't had any problems swalling pills except for the gagging if they taste gross.

I was told that absorption of coated pills is hindered for us gastric bypass recipients. You might talk to your doctor, Diana and ask if you're able to get anything from coated vitamins (or other pills). I cut all my coated pills in half so that the inside of the pill is absorbable too. Our bodies don't break down things like they used to. I don't take anything extra besides the Optisource vitamins and fish oil (flax seed oil gives the same results) pills for the fatty acids we're missing in our diets. If you have noticed that your skin is extremely dry, try taking fish oil pills or flax seed oil (pills or liquid) and you'll notice within a few days that your skin isn't nearly as dry. God bless!
