hairloss
Hi Maribel!
I have been experiencing some hairloss (not as much as I expected though) for about the past 2-3 weeks also. I was told to expect it at about 3-6 months out from surgery. I'm taking fish oil and it seems to help with dry skin, but not so much with the hair. I'm going to start taking what Happy's taking and see if the Biotin will help me as well. Thanks for the info, Happy!
I hope your weight loss is BIG and your hairloss is SMALL from here on out!!
God bless!

I am losing hair, I've mainly noticed it in the past week or two. I don't have a lot to begin with so I hope it doesn't last too long. Since my first month was very traumatic with 2 surgeries and a lot of starvation, I'm expecting I'll lose a lot of hair. Its worth it though.
Other than getting your protein in, there's not much you can do. Biotin will help the new hair look better but won't prevent loss.
Biotin does not stop hair loss, nor curb it, It does However, help the new growth grow back stronger & Healthier. Some people try prenatal vitamins and says the xtra nutrients help slow hair loss but still not does prevent it. I had surgery aug.22 and have yet to lose any but I fear it will come sooner rather than later. Good Luck everyone..
thanks for the reponse and i guess there are some sacrifices we make to be healthy. i just hope it stops. i am just sticking with my vitamins and tons of h2o. i have switched from a multivitamin to pre-natal so we will see if it slows down. happy monday, i am so happy this board is here for support.
Hello,
I had so much I cut 4 feet off from my hair just to take weight off the follicles. Probaby not too smart, but I was too old for that long of hair anyway. It just comes out in my brush and all over the sink. Looking at the brighter side though is that I know it won't last, it will grow back in and I have lost almost 75 lbs since starting this journey!
Sounds like we are all a little concerned with this issue, lets keep reporting on it and see how long it lasts for each?
Thanks for making me feel not so alone in this.

Hi Maribel,
My name is Lucy and I am exactly 3 months out today Nov.15th. When I began this jouney I was told to expect hairloss and it freaked me out because I had some hairloss even before surgery... # months out and within the past two weeks I've had so much hair fall out that I have two small but noticeable balding spots right in the front of my head. I have as much protein in a day as I did in a week pre op. I take hair and nails supplements and fish oil everyday since month 2 and it's still falling out. So, all I can tell you is be patient, it will grow back and it can always be worse. That's the way I look at it.
